They alsodo look at what everyinr converts more of (tervigons and swarmlords) and make kits accordingly. They make more money this way. I sfill have not seen a Parasife or Doom yet. Anyone else?

Not as many people as would do if there was a model for it...

I would love to have a good Harpy model.
I want it asap. So far there is just one tyranids unit that's useless (I couldn't win a game with my pyrovores so far) and so I'm eagerly waiting for this release.

But I like this autumn of fliers idea. It was a big disappointment, when the summer of fliers got canceled, but hey this year there was already the biggest miracle (nids second wave), so I'm really looking forward to this.

Well if it is released in June would it not still be Summer of Fliers?

Must've imagined this then. Plus, they're in AoBR.

That's the amazingly bad Gorkamorka Deffcopta (or at least released around that time). The Deffcoptas in AoBR are completely different and rather cool models. Once AoBR goes away, there will be no way to get the better plastic Deffcoptas, unless GW shows a little business sense and releases them outside of AoBR.

Ya, I know they're not the same, probably should've worded that a bit better.

The point still stands though, there ARE models for Deffkoptas.

GW will probably release that one in Finecast once AoBR is no longer available

Sounds like it's time to stock up from Ebay, while the proces are still low.

Fortunately I have 10 sitting around for use in various scratch builds and for the additional that I'd like in my army.

I'm more interested in the prices. @$35 USD i'll get 2 storm talons...@50 USD i'd just get one.

I'll bet they are closer to $50 than $35. I'll wait for the Offical rules to decide how many I get. Probably 2 ork, and one Stormtalon.

They look to be about Landspeeder sized, perhaps a tad bigger, so I'd put my money on the Rhino/Razorback price band, whatever that translates to in local currency...

Maybe a nice $39.50 price point then. Land speeder Storms are $30 USD.

Notice how in the BoW rumor they don't mention where they fit in the FOC. Also, the rules for the Stormtalon suggest it is a fast skimmer, but then has the hover strike rules where it turns into a skimmer? It looks like they are setting it up for the duel appoc and 40k rules approach like how FW vultures are handled in the Armored company list.

That is what I'm hoping for, but you know how GW also prices by game effect.

That's what I'm planning, at least at the start (just to have, without considering army lists)

Yes, around the pictures on page 7 you see some descriptions of weapons, unit type, and for the ork flyers an upgrade.

Don't forget that they have to add in the flying base and stand. Stormtalon I would say is likely going to be 49.50 usd so that GW can invade our pockets as always. Orks might be cheaper and Necrons should be 44.50 or so

BoW gave enough info to roughly playtest a Stormtalon. I would say 25 for the TML and 25 for the SHML everything else weapon wise is free. Also how the wings work I dont think it gets missiles. I was able to easily create a Army Builder variant easily enough.

That's like arguing against the plastic Dreadnought in AoBR getting a release if the actual dread was still metal.

The Deffcoptas in AoBR are awesome models. They're plastic. Two things the current Deffcopta isn't, and the reasons why people buy them on ebay rather than the terrible metal deffcopta.

The fact GW haven't released them as separate kits is really odd. While they might not be as complex as other multi part plastic vehicles, they'd still make a fantastic 3 model box.

It's not that odd. Orks got a stack of new plastics with the last codex. Releasing the Deffkopas outside the AoBR set would have meant cutting a separate sprue... which would have meant not getting one of the other plastic kits.

I didn't mean with the codex, I meant later as a splash release. Like now, when AoBR is about to bite the dust, taking with it the ranges only plastic Deffcoptas. I can't think of another single model where the model in the starter kit has been better than the one on the shelf.

I would if there was a model. One of my friends plays Wych heavy Dark Eldar. The only things he has that could make the Harpy worry are Scourges with Splinter Cannons and the Dark Lances on his 3 Raiders. The Scourges are generally busy hunting more important things like deadlier MCs and Hive Guard, and the Dark Lances wouldn't cause much problems since with some careful movement, the Harpy should be able to drop a Raider with twin linked HVCs before the Raider gets to shoot. And even if it doesn't, a Dark Lance won't instagib a Harpy.

It's a bit of an unusual situation, since the metal model was never intended for 40K in the first place.

I can agree with this greatly since I played 'nids when the new codex came out but still! Why! There are better models out there!

Agreed. There is also more than a decade between the two and GW models (at least until Finecast was introduced) had improved significantly in that time.

Of course there are better models out there than the Harpy. It doesn't have a model.

As for the unit itself, if I only took units that were competitive in my armies, I wouldn't be playing 40k. Terrible game to play competitively.
