Hi all,

All of the work on dakka has got me wanting to get into sculpting and converting my nids. I hardly ever get to play, but I still love building the models and have always wanted to add a couple spores to my arsenal. I have always used greenstuff to fill gaps, so I'm not completey new to the very basic aspects of working with it, but this is my first time doing any extensive work with it at all....much less an entire model. The spore is made of a foam egg I got at Hobby Lobby and I just used their brand of the milliput. I still have some more shaping up to do, but I'm letting it harden a little. I did the white part on the first night, the top layer of armor yesterday, and I've done the bottom two tonight. I will add the tentacles this weekend whilst on fall break.

I am open to any advice anyone is will to part with. One real issue I'm having is keeping the armor looking smooth. I am going to try sanding it and see if that helps, but its nearly impossible to do it right while the milliput has not set. Any thoughts?

Also, how does the size look? I tried to use the dimensions I found on the internet for the SM drop pod. The armor came out a little thicker than I had originally planned. The diameter is about 4"

I think I'm going to mount the tentacles coming out of the second plate (why they are a bit larger) and have them up in the air so the if I ever game with it I can get all my gaunt right next to it. I wish there were an appropriate base size. I dont want to pour a lot of work into one and not be able to use it in a tournament (the one or so a year I play in).

Thanks
