We painted up three of these for a client and modeled them them so that they could be either Night or Doom Scythes.

Check out the link for more pics. And we're always taking new commissions if you're interested!

The OSL is very convincing. A simple, but brilliant color scheme.

Says the Moderator. Oh wait...

Not to mention, this is a commission. It's entirely possible the didn't do the basing so that the client could do it to match the rest of his army.

Too bad? Doesn't matter if it's commission or not, if the base is not done then it is not done. You posted to the wrong forum. Welcome to Dakkadakka! ^_^

Very nice work. You've brought out enough detail to give it plenty of depth, but at the same time retaining a dark, menacing appearance.

I'll give you that; it is true. Technically, it goes against the P&M Showcase basing rule, but commissions tend to have a sort of Get Out of Jail Free card, because the base will most likely be done by the customer, not the painter, so this is the final product.

There's no need to still be upset over not having a thread where you wanted it.

Untrue. I know this from experience. Regardless if it is commission or not, if the base is not done then it belongs in a different forum. Let's not muddy up this guys thread more than it already is. I've alerted the mods, it will be moved.

Back on topic, that's some incredible painting OP. Your client should be very pleased, basing or no basing.

@Dandruff

The bases totally painted black, home skillet, so don't let it get you down!

And they are indeed to the client's specifications, so they are as"done" as they're going to get. I think this is a case of RAI vs. RAW.

hahaha, and welcome to Dakka, huh? Well, I think I am approaching 7 years on this site, now? Hardly a n00b, so no need to be condescending.

@Firepower

Thanks! He actually liked them so much he ordered an entire army in that scheme We were very happy about that.

Usually when I see lighting effects on these models it becomes distracting. It seems you used some nice restraint to not overdo it. Nicely done.

They are quite nice, but yeah, they don't really count as finished for purposes of Showcase. Moved.
