Subject: Emperor's Children Pre-Heresy / Heresy Era
Forgeworld has done it again and found another way to seperate me from my money. I have always wanted to build an Emperor's Children Heresy era army and am now taking it up as my newest project.
I am starting this army out with a 10 man legion tactical squad made of FW MKII and MK IV armor. These guys went together very easy. The only problem was in priming. I used Vallejo black airbrush primer and it just would not stick to certain parts of the model. I am pretty sure there was no mold release left on the model. For my paints I used Vallejo Model Colour for the purple and GW metalics and washes for the trim and shading.
Here is the first test model for army. I have decided to go with a royal purple color scheme with gold trim. I am still wanting on my resin bases to get in from Dragonforge and for FW to release Emperor's Children decals so I can add legion iconography.
The first half of the first legion tactical squad is now done! I am happy with how these turned out. A couple of thing were changed from the test model though. First, I went with red lenses for the helmets because the yellow was too bright. Second, I made the edge highlight a bit of lighter shade of royal purple to add a little more definition to the edges. As soon as FW releases decals and etched brass for the Emperor's Children I will begin adding legion iconography.
