Finally getting to paint my ork army (not a very big one, probably ~1000 if i stretched it) and i painted my favorite Nob first.

He has:

Power Klaw
Stikkbombz
Slugga
'Eavy Armor
Boss Pole

The shield was a ripped in half Armour Platings for a trukk, since i didnt like them nor intended to use them on the trukks. Makes a cool orky shield eh?
First time painting these things, and i think im lacking a few crucial colors (like a true red lol). Opinions? Tips?

EDIT: Son of a...i forgot to douse him in shadow ..... ok except that tip got any for me?

Hey, i do love that shield propa ork fashion :p
I think the main criticism you alluded to already was the shadows, this model would jump leaps and bounds forward with some washes That aside some solid brushwork.

Brilliant Nob you have there!
It just goes to show what a bit of wash can do!

Yea its kinda a good thing i forgot the wash isnt it? I got a before and after shots proving that you just cover the damn thing in Agrax and POOF its realistic looking (looks a bit cartoony before the wash doesnt it?)
