Kind of, but rather than health the top line represents experience - both from killing zombies and from doing objectives. The thing is that once one character moves up into the next alert band, all the zombie spawns move up to the next alert band, yet all the other characters may only be in the first alert band and so only have a single "bonus" feat.
For example, the first game I played with my wife, one of my characters moved up into the top of the orange band (she had lots of free attack feats and a long range rifle ) while everyone else was still in blue or yellow. I then had to basically just run her around without doing anything with her as if I'd killed anything else the alert would have gone up to red and we would have been screwed

That EKG read-out is nothing to do with health. Every survivor has but 2 HP or Wounds or whatever you want to call it. They progress down that EKG read-out as they kill more zombies, meaning they have access to more special abilities AND there will be more as well as more powerful zombies spawning on the board. I think of that EKG thing as an indication of your adrenaline amping up as the situation becomes more dire. This game also runs on a noise mechanic: every zombie on the board is attracted to the "noisiest" zone. Noise is created by survivors just by standing in a zone but they also create noise when they use items to, for example, kill zombies. So it ties together pretty nicely: the more zombies you kill, the noisier things get, the more zombies come after you, the more pumped you are to survive.
I was watching some promotional material for Zombibi and there is a survivor dual wielding bowling balls..
It's an upgrade from the frying pan
It's not instantly better than other weapons in the game.
It can kill a fatty
It can also serve as a one shot ranged weapon.
It can knock down doors
Round 1. Dave searches and finds empty bottle
Round 2: El Cholo hands Dave Gasoline
Round 3: Abomination gets spawned at Blue Threat Level
Round 4: Dave uses Molitov to eliminate Abomination and 2 walkers
Round 5: Dave uses second Molitov to take out Fatty, 2 runners, and 2 walkers.

It's useful, but not so good that it's broken
In Zombibi he actually manages to get his hand stuck inside the bowling ball...and yes then he does it again with a second one. The character isn't the brightest bulb in the knife drawer so to speak
"Ahh the Internet. Where Men are Men, Women are Men and Children are FBI Agents."
To be honest, I was wondering how he was maintaining a solid grip during combat. In any case, I thought it would be a fun and unique zombie dispatching weapon.
The $34.99 MSRP isn't cheap, but I was able to snag it for $26.29 shipped on Amazon. Still cheaper, faster, and easier than buying and painting metal figs.
I'm sure I can find use for the Mummies in Bloodbowl as well.
An invincible Abom is about the same as a regular Abom when you don't ahve a Molitov, or beefed up El Cholo. You have to steer clear of it. Adds to the suspense
I have a question...if Doug gets the pistol from the random starting gear does his Matching Set! special rule double it into two pistols or does that only happen when he searches and finds a dual wieldable firearm?
Edit: nvm found the answer in the faq, he doesnt...oh well ^_^

Thanks !!
Unlike the frying pan, I wanted it to be useful. Plus I must admit, it is immensely satisfying chucking it at a zombie in an adjacent zone, instead of just discarding it to make room for something better.
Played my first go at Scenario 1 today, solo as no one felt like coming round (bastids). And I got my ass handed to me, all my survivors got into the Yellow zone, I dealt with one abomination, what really screwed me over was a spawn card which gave some zombies an additional activation....that was not cool -_-
Of the 5 Objectives on the map I managed to get 2, and got swamped before I could get to number 3. Harsh but enjoyable experience which taught me that you better be damn sure what you want each of your characters to do before you start moving. Plenty of times I wished that I could do two actions with one Survivor then use another for one and so forth...

There is nothing stopping you from playing with a modified deck. My group take out the Walkers and Runners get extra action cards most of time. It just wasn't fun getting ganked by a random card draw.

Yeah I might do that as well, it was hairy before I pulled that card..or well cards, but I still had a fighting chance
I don't have Cholo or any of the special characters, I missed them on Kickstarter by a few days so I had to order my copy the old fashioned way.

Just received a copy of this game ( and Last Night on Earth) for my birthday a couple days ago.
Am very anxious to actually get the chance to play.
Have the Danny Trejo , Sheldon Cooper, etc, characters been released yet?
I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.
