Hey Guys I've become sidetracked with the new codex and decided to put my larger noise marine force on hold and have begun working on a small Corpus Brethren force using the mark of Nurgle as i think it best represents their cannibalistic, went mad in a planet-sized digestive tract, nature. This is a test scheme so i'd really appreciate some feedback before i paint the whole squad this way.

Many Thanks, Bores

The +1 toughness, poisoned weapons and fear causing banner really seemed to fit the background for me. Not to mention that i have a huge collection of Noise Marines so i wanted to do something abit different; but kinda along the same lines.

Currently this is all i have for the Corpus Brethren. Does anyone have any suggestions for representing plague marines/ the mark of Nurgle whilst still staying Slaaneshi? I'm going to be using the dryad heads but i feel that they may need something more. Any help will be very much appreciated, Bores.

The Helbrute will receive a dryad head like the rest

New painted things!

The large areas made it really easy for the wash to go over although it did require more layers than normal...

I think all your mark of Nurgle guys are wearing the wrong iconography.

I think your missing the point? I'd appreciate some feedback on my models, not your issues with my 'count as' units...

I love what you've done with the Corpus Brethren, Bores. What head did you use for that first test scheme Terminator? I hope to see a lot more on this project log. Any long-term plans for this?

When it comes to painting, I think you need a stronger colour in there somewhere. Like, it seems like a lot of your colours are washed out, which is cool. I could imagine a gigantic person's Gastric Juices would do that to armour, but I think that a stronger, or darker Blue would help your scheme. Otherwise these guys look great.

Hey Brotheralexos,

The head is from the dryad kit and i am using the dryad head on all of my Corpus Brethren. I agree with you on the colours but the light blue is there because it ties with the other units in my daemons, traitor guard and Noise marines so its not something that i want to change. However, maybe i could add more colour through the pipes and tubes; maybe red and yellow alongside the green?

The plan is to expand them to a game legal force with maybe with a count as Fabius Bile, but i'm not so sure.

Just a quick update, I've finished my first CSM for these guys; my 1st squad Aspiring Champion. He'll be receiving Lucius' backpack when it arrives. So, what do you think?

That guy looks great, the addition of that bit for the front of his armour is nice. Is it from the Rhino Techmarine? either way, its good. And about the paintscheme; maybe doing a harder flesh colour would work like the Slaanesh Hellbrute in this article?

I don't know if adding Yellow will do much for the model, but maybe making the inner panels of the model a bit more purple-ish would help. Like, keep the raised surfaces of the Hellbrutes legs and arms (like the daemonic face on the lower leg bits, or the arrows on the Gun Arm) pink, but give the areas in-between the raised areas a purple wash or two to make the colours contrast a bit more. Just a suggestion.

How are you painting these guys? It looks like you're using an only-wash technique. It actually looks quite good.

Do you mean the faces? I was contemplating making them an Albino-ey/Alabaster kinda skin tone, would that provide enough contrast?

Thanks! I'm mainly washing these guys although the blue shoulder pads and hands, gun casings and piping are all painted.

No, I mean the Daemonic Face on the Hellbrute's lower left leg. I think the alabaster idea is superb, and would definitely draw attention to the model's face.

I'll give the alabaster a go then. Thanks!

Second terminator finished. He has a 'counts-as' heavy flamer and a power-fist. I also have some P.I.P. shots of my, currently armless, lord. Comments and criticisms very much appreciated.

Bores.

Great work here Bores! It's a great improvement on your other work, and the dryad heads look verrry nice, especially on the lord.
