A few years ago, long before i really understood the game or how to drybrush, wash etc, and of course, had more money than sense, i fell in love with Kroot. As a result of that, over £100 and an obssesive attitude, i ended up with a mountain of poorly painted Kroot and a very outdated Kroot dex downloaded from some dark corner of the internet.
Lately however, my painting techniques (I think) have improved and i have been hearing spatterings of rumours about a new Tau codex and decided to prepare my Kroot once again for the tables, this time with a fresh paint scheme, and i've decided to do them Palomino. WHich brings me nicely to my topic;
How would i go about painting palomino with citadel paints?
I've decided that i want to do the quills a bone colour and the rags they wear a sandy colour to give the army a look of desert nomads, but i was hoping for the experienced insight of some more accomplished painters.
Any advice is of course welcome, and below there will be an example of a palomino horse.
Thank you.

You'll need to be sure the clothing and quills don't blend together too much, so I'd go with a medium brown for the clothing. Painting the equivalent of bleached blonde quills, look at how horns are painted, and reverse that. A cleaner yellowish-bone at the base tapering off to a darker and dirtier yellow at the points to show where grime has accumulated. Not sure if you just meant the color pattern or whole-hog palomino horse-kroot with dark muzzles and lighter patterns across the forehead, but those could be done on the krootox, or even piebald patterns. Either way good luck with your alien space blondes.

Lol thanks man, i wanna go whole hog on the Kroot but that an amazing idea for the krootox (plus my knarloc could do with a new look) The quills idea is good, atm my kroot are a dull green with purple and blue quills, which, while funky, isn't really the fearsome warrior tribe look i feel the Kroot would be.
