It's a good start but it looks flat. You should apply a wash to give it some depth.

It looks pretty good so far, i agree with putting on a wash. I cant really see the back, but i think it would look nicer with a bit more purple in some areas.

It'd look a lot better if you picked out more of the small details as well. Drilling the barrel would be nice as well

Just before the oil wash. I got a new oil wash that isn't so.. Tarry.
These are just test, still think I'm going to do purple armor. This light shows the shadows better

The OSL effect for the eyes is way too overpowering. Sometimes, with things like that, less is more.

Just to throw something out there: sometimes it's really pleasing to the eye when contrasting colors are present on a model--a yin yang type deal. So pick a contrasting color and touch it up. Like red eyes or something. That's my 2 cents. Nice lighting effects though! Also liking that purple

Hey man, nice looking GKs. I like that you've gone for a grey, instead of a sliver. My advice would be to intensify some areas of your paint job, and knock back some other areas.
The Zenithial highlight, imo, is not quite popping enough. I would ramp up the brightness. You always loose a bit of white when you wash down, even with oils. You need to consider how glossy/matte your armour is.
A glossy finish will have much sharper contrast compared to a matter finish. If glossy - use a brush to apply dots of pure white where the light would reflect. If matte, use your AB to apply over reduced white.
The OSL doesn't work because the light projecting from the eyes is hitting areas that it couldn't possibly hit.
I know it is tempting to use your airbrush to do OSL, but in this case, there isn't enough control.
If you look at the 'eyebrow' area of the helmet, there is no way that light (which always moves in a straight line, remember) could come out of the lense and hit above that ridge.
My advice is two fold. For your current set of models I would grab a brush and brush on a layer of grey on that 'eyebrow' area.
In future, use a little masking tape, or blue tac, to stop your paint from hitting bits you don't want it to.
I really think you should pick out the lettering in gold, as it breaks up the paint job, and will actually make your Zenithial Highlight pop more.

Thanks guys I really appreciate the comments. I agree with all the points. I couldn't help myself when doing the osl.. It just goes on so smooth and easy, it's hard not to get carried away! I'm going to make up another model in purple with grey or maybe a cream/khaki accents.I know purple isn't the "grey knights color " but i think it would look really nice, and I could generate a sharper contrast.
One of my concerns with the zenithal is that when you make a really aggressive contrast, I'm not sure how to hand paint the parts that are on the shadows. I feel it'll look strange to have a dark shadow area with full brightness paint in it. Suggestions?
Thanks guys!
