Hey all, does anybody have any tips for modelling a Saguinius model? I've been looking for a base model for a while wondering of there any suggestions?

A lot of people use the Necron Nightbringer model as a base. It allows for you to model an airborne Sanguinius.

There is no overkill. Only open fire and reload

Scibor has a few decent models for him. Although he uses a different scale for his minis

See what you think of hitech miniatures. They have a bunch of representative primarch esque models. I have their archfather Samel model for my night lords Konrad Curze like model.

Why not start with the Inquisitor marine; perfect size and the classic silhouette is already there. Obviously you need to work on the detailing, but a dremel is your friend t remove the deathwatch iconography. Wings can come from all sorts of GW or other manufacturers...

He's a head or more taller than a marine, has baroque armor and a sword the size of a motorcycle.

scibor has a really convincing model that could do for sanguinius... its also larger then a terminator so it fits the fluff perfectly!

Im with Kyoto on this, reapers is by far and away the best base. Though i ended up resculpting the arms and changing the sword for something a bit more 'delicate'.

Ahhh sweet thats the sort of thing I'd want to go for. Obviously mine won't be anywhere near as good...

There isnt much you need to do to it, this is mine:

And a close up or the arm sculpt/new sword

Seriously it s not much different from the stock model, its quite fun to paint, once you fix the fether together...

I'm thinking of using something like this http://thebrushbrothers.blogspot.co.uk/2010/11/sanguinius-noble-son-and-primarch-of.html
And then maby doing a bit of conversion on the pose and perhaps some sculpting on the face...

That's AWSOME! Did you make the model from scratch or use a base?

Other than the addition of BA symbols it looks like the standard Reaper model.

I tried to use one as the Emperor but filing off that damn lion head ruined it for me.
