Like your painting skill, personally i would have made the stormbolter a different color.

Oh I like that colorscheme. Very nice. It gives me a feeling of that he is both old and a veteran of some sort. It would also fit in a black army, or a red... or something else! And you have good painting skills to.

I stay away from yellow because i struggle getting it to look consistent. Do you have any tips besides "thin your paints" ?

Hi yes very thin paint plus sepia washes.. think of using bleached bone to brighten and highlight your yellow hope this helps.

I would almost suggest that you make the Stormbolter a dark red to echo the red tones of the brown on the haft of the Crozius. It would balance the model.

Otherwise, awesome results.
