I'm making a Termie Lord with the Black Mace. I made this out of the force staff and one of the Maxmini hammers I just bought. Would this work? Any suggestions? Also if I give him a sigil of corruption what should I use to show that?

That hammer looks cool! I'm trying to figure out what to give my Daemon prince of slaanesh for a black mace. Should i get nasty and go the rout of mature humor and put a big black c*ck into his hand? No seriously, what would be a good black mace for a daemon prince?

Any kind of big hammer or mace, really. There's a lot of possible scenery and bits that can be used for a bigger model like a daemon prince.

I'd say for a Slaaneshi DP (lol), you need something ostentatious. Something ornamented and really bright for most of the hammer, but the actual head painted black or purple/black.

That is awesome! That can count as anything in my book but looks exceedingly cool as a Black Mace.

I should mention that it is for my Iron Warriors, so I wanted it to fit with them. That's why its not all decked out to one of the Chaos Gods. More of an industrial/blacksmith feel to it.

Nice!!

I have come to find that modeling the weapon then cutting it to fit the model holding it can wreck delicate work.

Good call on using the haft with the hand sculpted onto it!!

Do you have any shots of your champ that is going to wield the weapon?

Keep up the great work!!

A week ago I finally put together this great metal Chaos Lord on Daemonic Steed I've had sitting on the shelf for a couple of years. He's representing a Khornate lord on a Jugger with Black Mace in my CSM army:

Looks pretty badass! But i find the fact funny that the only part of this piece that isnĀ“t black is the hammer itself.

That's just photo trickery, its part of the hammer's power.

I'm about to put it together, I'll upload some pictures when I am finished.

Its actually about 16.5 feet tall. However, I was using the Scibor Chaos Lord, so making this one is a considerable downsize The Scibor model is extremely huge and bulky, way bigger than a primarch should be, I love the model, but don't feel right using it. Also it usually angers my opponents and they target it more than a squadron of Leman Russ Executioners in the open.

Here is the semi final Warsmith/Chaos Lord. This is also the first time I've ever used Green Stuff. I've got to sand it down after it dries.

I think the bottom of the mace could stand ot be shortened a little bit, like cutting off the bottom and the hand, and removing a chunk so that the other handle and the pommel are closer up towards where he's holding it.

It's not that it looks too long, it looks like it's too long for him to actually wield it.

Looks nice, though.

So would this work? I'd really like it to be a really big war hammer, maybe even a maul. When he gets into combat he can chuck that combi-melta aside because I think that the Black Mace is a bit too cool to be a 1 hander.

I think cutting at that spot might make it look a little more usable. I agree with you that it looks like he should be two-handing it.

That looks like it rocks. I really love the mace.

Yeah, the hammer is awesome. I put him on a 60mm round resin scenic base, and I'm going to swap the left arm- haven't decided yet if his tentacle arm will be holding a bolt pistol or a power axe.

I think it looks amazing as it is. If you shorten it, it won't look special. As it stands it looks like it's really nice because it's such a large and prominent weapon.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

If you want it 2 handed, grab an axe (I'm thinking SW sprue (http://www.thewarstore.com/product50306.html), but only because that's what I'm familiar with). It's 2 handed, and you can play with the bottom to add the length back to it, Ya know what I mean?

Then mess around with the pose and such to see how animate you can make him if he's holding on with both hands. It's a bit of a restriction in terms of motion, but it is realistic. All you, it'll be wicked either way.

As for the hammer itself, that's freakin' awesome. Works as inspiration, b/c I considered doing something similar myself, but for my RP. Kudos dude.

I'm currently working on a Biker Lord, using the csm bike kit,the upper half of an aspiring champion and the right arm and mace from a whfb chaos warrior. It's fairly large and going to do a black schema on the mace and handle up into the arm (reverse OSL?) with light purple edging, to contrast with the traditional nurgle colors. The mace is a good sized one hander.

Here is the result. I decided not to cut the hammer. I don't think the daemon primarchs would bless a tiny hammer that some Chaos Lord used to hang Georgia O'Keefe paintings in his craft room. The pose I went with is him leading a charge to tear down some fortress that he is just really angry at, presumably the Chaos Lord that likes Georgia O'Keefe.
