I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to paint embers. I'm trying to get the effect on some of my models, and not sure where to start. The idea is to replace the red/orange/yellow with purple and pink. I have access to an airbrush as well, and was figuring that that might be the best place to start. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Here's some examples:

White is hottest while black is coldest (not burning).

Start with a black chunk of something. Small rocks could work.

With the black, start painting dark red to places you think would be hot, such as the insides of the ember pile.

Then going towards the hottest places paint red-orange-yellow-white.

Or in your case substitute red for purple and yellow for pink.

Forever a pone.
