Not where I should be

So got myself a bit of a problem,

Been painting for years and have painted every army going, but the one thing I have never really bothered with was the background to much. What I mean is none of my armies or those I have painted have had official scuttany, they have hardly ever been in a shop match situation, and have never entered any competitions, so I was never overly worried about their official appeareance. The only armies ever to enter a GW store where my orks, and they have NO official paint system so no worries there.

I currently live so far from any official game situation that me and the kids do not strictly adhere to the "rules" biut see them more as guidelines like.

But now I am here and I feel a slight embarressment at some of my armies, especially my Space Marines.

To demonstrate there follows pics of my Space Marine army as it stands, they where put together to get my 9 year old into the game, he has very little interest in the modelling but the game has drawn his attention.

What I would really like is some feedback on what I need to do to them to make them OFFICIAL. They are loosely Ultramarines.

Please feel free to comment as you like on everything from "wrong colour" to whats the insignia for the shoulder pad meant to be?

Thanks for looking

I'm no pro at painting ultra marines nor SM transfers for squad markings so I can give a quick cursory glance at modelling concerns for gaming:

- Captain needs a standard base, not a bike one
- Lose a heavy bolter and assault cannon from the speeder then its legal
- Both assault cannons need to come off attack bike and replaced with twinlinked bolter
- Devastators are fine but ineffeciently equipped (too many weapon varieties)

Soon his foes would learn that the only thing more dangerous than a savage three hundred pound brute is a savage three hundred pound brute with a plan - Ork Codex
