I always field vendettas and always alone, never in groups. Thu may just be the most under costed unit in the game as of 6th. Love the basic leman Russ. No upgrades with the ordinance rules and all. Psyker squads are only effective in larger numbers... Preferably ten of them. I almost never use elites other than marbo, occasionally. There are two way to use the stormtroopers. One way is the ten man squad with no upgrades. Just pile on the ap3 hits on any MEQ target. I personally prefer to use them in packs of 5 with melta guns. Deep strike behind enemy armor and shoot away. They are such a weak unit that they will either die after hopefully killing a tank, or (even better) may be ignored (because they are such a low priority target) and can continue to hit something else. Basically, This way thetoffee on he role of melta vets for tank hunting and stalling an advancing army. I must say, I prefer veterans... The hotshot lasguns are ok, but for 16 points you are competing with space wolf grey hunters that can accomplish so much more for the same cost. IMperial guard needs to roll cheap and plentiful. Badalisks are good. Maybe use a griffon as a spotter. Really all of the imperial tanks are pretty good. The plasma Russia are great against MEQs as well, but pricey. Remember that now the sponsons "get hot". The main cannon, however, does not. It is nice that it can move and fire all weapons at its full ballistic skill, unlike the basic lrbt or demo. It's a good basis for an army though.... not basis... Good army. I'd run more plasma guns on the vets. Flanders and grenade launchers are just ok. Plasma and meltas are really good. Plasma are just awesome with the chane to rapid fire rules. Firing twice at 24" if you're stationary... Yes please. The aegis line is a given now a days, but you probably know that, seeing that you own one. Let me know what you end up running for a 2000 or 1850 point army.

Vets shouldn't be used for Grenades and flamers; waste of their awesome BS.
Max-size stormies aren't necessary; use 'em as special weapon delivery.
PBS is lackluster; you'll realize after a couple uses that it's blah.
Primaris Psyker is "eh".

Ditto to not wasting your Veterans' BS on GL or flamers, and going small squads on Stormies. The psykers are okay, but since they can't use their powers from a Chimera anymore I wouldn't bother.
Your CCS can take four special weapons with Veteran BS (or two and a heavy weapon). Do that.
Split your vehicle squadrons as much as possible. Valkyries should be 2 and 1 if you really need the Hellhounds.
If you can afford it after those changes, grab a third Bassie and split your Executioners into two separate units.

Really a 3rd basilisk over a cheap griffon to spot on the long / out of sight shots? The placing the other blasts Ruth where they need to be. You can afford camo netting on the squad, giving them a 3+ save with the aegis line. You come out saving 20 points, even with the camo netting, being more survivable and hitting more reliably. You can tuck the squad completely out of sight and still be pretty accurate.

That's okay. Anyone who has specific questions about points costs that will have useful input will have a guard codex.
That said, what's the total points value here? To lazy to calculate everything. If it's above 2k, then you really should get 6 of some FO slot (well, that's not troops), and if it's less, then your support choices could probably use homogenation.
Flamer vets are okay... but less so in a list with hellhounds. The grenade launchers really need a pick me up, though. I guess I could see a hull heavy bolter+multilaser+3xGL+ HB combo for a torrent of mid-strength firepower, but still, this is pretty meh. 12 S5/6 shots on an AV12 frame sounds neat until you realise that you can get double that on an AV14 frame for only 30 points more.

A quick glance tells me that this is a 2k list at least. Seeing as he has 4 elites, he has to be using a double FOC since a single FOC will only allow 3.
Although, a quick points add up tells me this is 3000 points. And seeing as he doesn't give specifics on the types he uses for the Hellhounds/Valks (he said he could switch them in and out) part of me thinks this isn't really a list list and more of just a list of all the models he has.
Or, he plays 3000 point games. Which would be pretty cool I guess hahahaha

This is a list of everything I have. It actually is getting updated in a few seconds because I bought more stuff last night. I went with these options to give me flexibility. If you think about it I have everything I could want for a game. I wouldn't field a max Squad of Stormtroopers. Like it was said this is just EVERYTHING I have. Thank for everyone's input! Please continue to let me know what you think!

Yea as noted I wouldnt run the full squads of stormies and just use them as 5 man squads to save points. This way you can upgrades your vets and give them either plasma or melta for their bs4.
LRBT is my prefered russ variant. And with the new heavy rules I would just run them bare bones with no upgrades.
I would also try and spread your air support out as much as possible to have a much better advantage. For the hellhounds I usually run mine with mutli meltas on the hull that way if enemy armor tries to cut them off of burnanating troops they will just toast the tank, or not with bs3 lol.
I would probably give your CCS a chimera as well unless they are in a vendetta.
Im not much of a fan of psykers and have never run the battle squad. I think they are very fragile(yet all guard is fragile).

I my self dont see the point for the ADL as the majority of your squishy units are in transports I say drop the PBS and the ADL in place give the vets 4+ saves for 30 points a squad this then leaves you with 20 points spare

It's not worht 30 points to upgrade to carapace armor. There is still too much ap4 tuff out there now a days. I'd say you don't need that either. Just use those points on more guns somewhere.
Also I don't know what I was thinking the firing 2 times at full range... Sorry. You can however move and fre 2 times at half range or once at full range. That means anything within 18" of a foot-slogging vet-squad or 24" from on in a chimera is in serious danger of getting plasma gunned down pretty good.

Lol I played a game this morning with my plasma spammed guard army ih have 22 plasma guns and I was wishing I could double tap at 24". Just Imagine how brutal it would be to get shot at with 44 plamsa shots. Its brutal enough at 12". I did manage to roast a lot of Drop Podding Blood Angels though so it was good. I was thinking though that it might be useful to have carapace for all the exploded chimeras and gets hot saves but its a lot of points that could just buy more Plasma.

Never underestimate a 4+ armor guard army. Shock factor alone is worth it...I always enjoy the look on my opponents face when their bolters suddenly don't auto kill
I think an interesting list would be 3 punishers, CCS, primaris with biomancy, two 5-man storm squads, 4 vets in chimers with plas/melta, 3 dettas.

So the final question to all this is what do I take as a centerpiece to my Army?
A Baneblade or a Shadowsword?
I also changed the first post to reflect EVERYTHING I have. Let me know folks! Automatically Appended Next Post: My poll has brought in 4 votes. 2 for each. You guys aren't making the choice any easier! Lol.
