Finished painting my first of 3 dakkajets. Painting each one a different color just so its easier to pick them apart, plus its magnetized for the bombs underneath. The Bigbomms and the grot turret are also painted, though i forgot to get a pic of them (though theyre minor anyway). The panel where the grot turret goes isnt glued down, it fits in there perfectly tight without it so i can swap them (also makes a handy storage area for all da bommz, since i failed and didnt magnetize all the jets' bombs the same direction lol)
I accidentally glued the pilot's arms too high so i couldnt put the canopy on grrr but it still looks good.

The base's water was just dried PVA glue (Elmer's glue specifically) that was brushed with a dark blue, light blue, and white. The splashing effect was due to me constantly blowing it into the rocks as it dried.

I like the color scheme, and what you did with the land/water terrain below. Nice work.

I've always loved the Dakkajet model, that's a great paint job and I love what you've done on the base, I'll definitely have to try that technique!

Nice! Never thought about doing the base in a smaller scale to give the jet the appearance of flying.

This is awesome! The base is great, the flames, the paintjob, kudos to you!

Thanks guys!

I think i need to thin my paints more next time i do flames. I didnt do any closeups cuz it looks horrid closer than a foot lol (not that smooth).

The other two jets are going to be white and green, not sure if i wanna do flames on them though these things were a pain in the butt.

Heh actually i wasnt intending to do that, but i see what youre talking about and now it looks a LOT better to me thinking that way. Thanks!

BTW if anyone wants to try that PVA idea for water, it takes FOREVER to dry and no i wasnt blowing on it the whole time. I blew it up the edges of the rocks and let it flow back down, leaving most of it stuck to the rocks. When it dried i added a little more to the body to add ripples....though i wasnt pleased with that tactic that much i need to revamp that one.
