Ok, so it's been a really long time since I've done an Ork army. I usually tend to stick with smaller model count armies because, well, I have grown to hate painting swarms.
When I first got into this hobby in 1989 at 10 years old I began with Battletech. A year later however, i found myself the happy yet confused owner of a plastic turtleback Warlord titan. I had no clue what it was but, from that day forward I was kinda hooked on Epic Spacemarine. It was about another year later that I found myself wanting to see what this other game with the space marines was about. They were bigger. they had more details. and they looked cooler. Epic remained my go to game, I just liked the models for Rogue Trader better. More particularly I was drawn to WAAAAAAAAGH! You guessed it, the Orks. I was always a huge Evil Sunz fan, but as I've aged I kinda find myself liking the Blood Axes a bit more these days. Now, I like to take my time usually on models and I sometimes hurry through a squad but the quality is only marginally less than what I put into the characters. This time around however I am trying a different approach. Since there are a lot of boyz in an army, and lets face it, they die fast, I decided that my mobs will receive minimal attention, since their time on the table will be short. Basically I am doing tabletop standard with a dip to shade and highlight them. Since they are Blood Axes I figured they need a standard uniform. So since I just started on these tonight (1/11/13) I have limited pics and just want to establish a test mob and baseline. So without further ado, here are the first to pics of my test mob. i think the skin needs to lightened up, but we shall see!
