Well, it has been quite a while since I even posted anything, but that isn't my reason for posting, my reason is because of what I have been doing over the past three to four months.
That, that is because I found my new love in terms of wargaming, Warmachine.
This began about 4 months ago, I was getting tired of Warhammer, it just wasn't cutting it for me aside from the models as that is really why I do this all anyways. It was a regular day at my local store and I was watching my friends play warmachine. I had always been interested in playing it more, but I had Warhammer so I felt no need to play it. I had a Cygnar battlegroup box that I had been using to play the game on and off for the past several months, not really dumping time or getting into it as I was knee deep in my guard army. I decided to break out the box and the models, play a few games and see if I was still into playing it, so I did.
After a few games at 25, I decided to, revamp my army. I had gone from a Stryker list to that of Brisbane, my second favorite caster for Cygnar. After a few months I had gotten a 50 pnt trencher lost for siege, went all out and painted all of my list over the course of the week. I played them for a while and then one of the local clubs for miniatures put out a 35 in 35 challenge. We were to get a new army or add 35 points to our existing armies. I chose to do the army I had been looking forward to playing since I saw the game, but my friend said Cygnar would be a better army for me to start with, all the shooting and the trenchers. So I followed his advice and played them for a good while, not really considering the pirates as I have obtained a steady job now and am slowly building my cash back again. I decided to take up this challenge and do the army I had always been looking to do.
Now with cash in hand, I got my list together and bought what I could at the store. I got my favorite caster of the entire iron kingdoms, Bartolo Montador, I was very excited for a Broadsides list after the months of waiting. So far I have a good start though some units I really dont need for him as they don't shoot, but I will be expanding my list as frequently as I can as I do love these models.
I have a Telion Charter list, nothing but the scum of the sea. Thankfully christmas was kind to me this year and allowed me to get an airbrush which I have been using to paint my jacks so far, my first attempt was good, but my second is a lot better, reminds me of Vectorman with all of the green, but I wanted a bright and beautiful army for all of my tournaments. I am very pleased with my work so far.
I also developed a new technique for painting flesh and I think its working quite well so far.
Have a look see you scurvy dogs!
