Looks like having the most players playing over seas in the league during the lockout has helped the bruins be in better form than everyone else(for one game lol). Not a huge hockey fan but getting into it more and more due to every friend of mine are long time bruins fans haha.
Hopefully having a shortened season should have the same effect as the nba lockout last year and make the whole thing be that much more interesting because everyone game counts even more.
Good Lord did the Nucks have a pair of sieves last night.
I can spend about a thousand dollars for me and the wife to go see the Nucks not give a gak, or less than 75 to see the up and coming kids in the WHL try their hearts out.

In their defense, it was against the Ducks, who have recently had great offensive teams.... Was it more an issue of Schneider being rusty, or a poor defense not helping Schneid out as needed?
The Blues have an exciting new player in Vlad Taransenko (or "Vova"). It's hard to temper your enthusiasm when you see him, but check out is first two goals of his career (on his first two shots in the NHL!).
This is his first on a breakaway... he has such a wicked shot:
Then look how he cut right into the defender... :

Really? I'd love someone to try that on me next time I showed up to Scott Trade in my Wings jersey.
Detroit was certainly off it's game last night, but I fully expected them to lose. First time in 20 years without their Lindstrom security blanket. It's going to take some getting used to.

It's good nature smack talk... that's all.
It stemmed from the recent Redwing's dominance over the blues that they've become our hated rivals (almost as much as the Blackhawks ) [don't remember when, but there was one playoff where Yzerman shot a puck from the center line and scored... that.was.epic.fail. Plus, Hullie won a cup with the Wings... ]
You come here in person, drinks are on me bud. If fact, PM if you're planning on attending this year and we'll go rumble!
Unfortunately I'll be working a swing shift on the other game they come to town, so that'll be a no go for me. I don't buy tickets to see the Blues. If I end up with a free set, I'll take you up on that though.
If your in the area though, maybe we can get together for a game of 40k some time. I play at Fantasy Books and Games in Fairview Heights, IL, but I could possibly make a trip across the river sometime.
Eastern conference games last night were fairly boring, Western Conference looked really exciting (I spent the day from 1pm to midnight watching every hockey game i could find lol).

Man, Philly and the Rangers both shut down in their first two games. Not a great start for them. This is going to be an unforgiving season, bad starts can put some teams into unrecoverable dives.
*crosses his fingers that the Wings pull their gak together tonight*
Yeah, not pretty for Philly, sitting at the botton and looking up at the Rangers... And the got NJ next, That's always a .... lively... game.
Hoping NYR tank it in the late season like they always do.
On the Buffalo game, P-plays against didn't help Philly, but neither did the 40 shots the Sabres took. Bryz is good but not 40 shots good.

Since football is ending I need a new sport to follow. Cleveland doesn't have an NHL team, so I can cheer for whoever I want... gotta find a snazzy jersey lol

Check out the St. Louis Blues... it's an up and coming team!
What about your sister city? Columbus Blue Jackets?
Coyotes need all the fans they can get... i actually went to a coyotes game in phoenix against the blue jackets, there were more Colombus fans than Coyotes fans there, I was further confused because I forgot that Columbus had an NHL team, thought it was interleague

I like the start the Pens have had. Vokoun was a huge get for them. It'll let them rest Fleury whenever they want, which is key considering how compact the regular season will be. Fleury wore down bigtime last year since his backup was so horrid.
