Well 3 years ago when I first started this hobby I accidently stumbled apon a minature forum called.... Dakkadakka, I spent hours gazing at amazing creations that I couldnt even comprehend! The greatest of those I thought where those dubbed Necromunda/INQ/Inquisimunda models! Im sure many of those on dakka know names such as Migsula, PDH, Baiyuan, Neil101, Scarper... and about a dozen more (take a look at my subbed threads and you can see the tons of inspiration I get) these guys are just insane and I always wanted to be just like them. I wasnt ready for the conversions I thought so I started simple, Guardsmen and Empire slowly and secretly building a bits pile that I refused to touch untill the day I dared the sacred path... that day is now an here is my wild and waky creations! At the moment of writing this most dont have names or stories, and some not even a clue what they are but as this thread progresses I hope you see both models and characters develope before your very eyes, thanks for joining me on my journy and I hope you enjoy your stay...

Part II of Update I

holy gak... i know some of these already... but seriously RW you´ve come a long way from that young boy i once met here on this board... those models show some excellent conversion work... wow! wow indeed! did i say wow?

the pit slaves will be some serious eyecandy once they get the first lick of paint... as is the with the pirates crew... some of these show what you could squeeze out of these cultists... man... great combinations all around!

the bolter handle of that ogryn is got to be the coolest conversion of a heavy bolter i have yet seen... and consider that combo so nicked! the pose is also great... what was the original mini looking like?

the two bounty hunters are great mini... because you made them great! and the assassin is making me very eager to see it painted by you! consider yourself now among earlier mentioned inspirational modelrs mate!

I plan on getting some white primer before I start on these guys and the pirate is actually the Games Day ork, somewhere between 2007-2009 not entirely sure, hes the one that came with the little crossed arm grot... oh and I forgot to mention I have 2 more gorkamorka orks, (but only one with a differnet pose) as well as a pile of models im stripping that will join the club shortly... again thanks vik!

I have to ask the Assassin what parts were used as the image is to dark , I think Cadian and a pig iron head but not sure.

Also check out Mad Robot heads, he is doing some cool stuff for IG and gangers plus I commissioned 2 sets to be made which might be some use too you lets just say sun glasses and respirator heads

That makes me happy of course, nope its all GW so far that Head is Cultist from the starter set, Sniper and Torso are Guardsmen, bottom half of the body is one of the finecast empire captains and the top half of the cape is GS! Mad Robot heads? I'll go check these out.... sun.. glass.. repir..ator... im so in! EDIT: OK I AM DEFINALTY BUYING THESE HEADS! Great find LDD

Bloody hell I got duped never have I gotten it so wrong (all though the darkness did not help ) I was convinced it was pig iron head
Also legs I thought they were padded not the bloody captain legs great job he is one of my favourites

I did not find the heads I had them designed although it is all Steve's work as we Brits say bloody nice bloke

Some really nice stuff here. I think my favourite is the Demiurg, he could use some neatening up sure, but the concept is great. I'm not exactly pro with GS myself but I can see yours is very light green in spots - where you must have mixed a lot of yellow in with the blue. I think using more blue than yellow makes it a lot easier to work, it is harder and less sticky.

For the Inquisitor himself, I would consider swapping the shotgun arm - bare arms looks a bit odd on an Inq and a shotgun is quite an unsubtle and crude weapon for such a subtle type of guy.

The bounty hunters both look great. As does the Assassin and the pirate with the one eye, knife and spear. He has a particularly good pose which goes well with that head, he looks like he has just heard something and is wide eyed and alert.

Thanks for the words Bruticus, means alot from the guy that made me do those pitslaves , alot of cleaning to do that is for sure, Crimsons probibly the worst GS so far but thats why I got him, it was a conversion from a couple years ago that I took the legs from just for the build going to have to dremel them down and resculpt them. And the shotgun arm on the Inq, you do make a fair point I'll go through my weapons section and see what would look better...

If you ever plan to use your pitslaves for Necromunda it is worth noting that the chief must have 3 arms - a good opportunity for a shoulder mounted buzzsaw arm in my opinion. And really, we should always take every opportunity we can for shoulder mounted buzzsaws.

Oh and that one pitslave with the giant poking stick - in Necro pitslaves must always have one implanted weapon which means he doesn't look much like a pitslave, but have you thought about giving him a backup net? Gladiators called retiarius would use a trident and net (or a poking stick and net).

Buzz saw for leader got it, and I gave him the trident knowing he was going to need a net, so I've been trying to find one that worked well I got a dark eldar one but it was way to big to fit on him so I might trim it down, hmm they must always have an implanted weapon? Im going to have to go and fix this guy then...

You could get some fruit or veg netting, build a basic shape out of plasticine or blue tac and mould the net over it whack on some PVA glue hey presto

Well in Necro rules a pitslave has to have an implant, I am not sure if it is an absolute must in the fluff but I think the idea is that the implant weapons are extremely messy, violent, crowd pleasing weapons for their arena fights. You could even go further and say that each type of weapon was a fighting style like how real gladiators used to fight in specific styles with specific equipment (retiarius, murmillo, etc).

I did a guy with no implant though, the idea being he was strong enough to operate his sheers through brute force.

Making a net is quite tricky and isn't 100% required to look cool, but maybe upgrade his pokey stick to be an electric pokey stick at least? That would seem a suitable weapon.

Yea I know which one your talking about (your brute that was big enough to cary that grabber) which makes complete sense and I agree with it, only reason I didnt for that guy was because I like the pose with the spear arms, definatly planned on making it an electric pokey and am going to see what I can do to make him less, fisherman and more dirty pitslave ( WOW Blanches gang is great never saw this blog thanks for pointing it out!) Also I think the problem is that after seeing your work it caused me to make the pitslaves, meaning I had no plans of it and had little to none of nice robotic bits and other pitslavy goodness but I'll take a look at some bits sites and see what they have.. im sure kromlech will have some ramshackle drill arms or buzzsaws

RW - Finding this thread has taken away those monday morning blues.

I don't have time to go through the lot on the whole very cool.

My favourite is the inquisitor. Brilliantly posed and he looks nails. Perfect head for the body. The only problem is he doesn't look like an inquisitor...bare arms, ripped coat, no shirt. My suggestion is leave the model be and change his character to be the Inquisitor's number 1 hired muscle. Good excuse to make another Inquisitor.

The watchers head is a gift from the new DA terminator box! And zombie dump is actually just gonna get his legs chopped up and positioned like people legs, just blutacted him at the moment because i was saving the good legs for more... Fleshed out characters

So I got a nice pile together of possible models, one of which was an empire knight, so I did a quick sketch and am curious what you think.... I mean who dosent love a good mobile propeganda spewer?

i am not too sure on the left arm of the rider... those tendrils...hmmm....?

and the "face" of the horse... well... not really my style... but that´s your drawing^^... but don´t get me wrong... many cool ideas...!

I was afraid the face would be too... duck like, but the other idea was to keep the horse face as like a death mask, and make some speaker contraption out of the left arm instead of the wires

Went through the bits box and the idea changed a bit, here he is atm all blutaced together, let me know what you guys think

I am glad you didn't go for the ninja turtle style bandana. I also think it is best not to have the horses mouth as a speaker, because really, what does a horse have to say that's so important? It could make for an interesting model when combined with the gagged rider, like the horse is the brains of the operation.

I think the boltgun ought to be the other way around as it looks like it would be too hard to draw it that way. And I think the horse could use some bionic eyes or something to stop it looking like it is a time-travelling horse from the Empire. Maybe a chainblade mounted on it's head.

Other than that I really like it. I think it looks like a missionary priest, maybe from a feral world. Riding around with all his worldly possessions stowed on the horse, maybe set in his ways and refusing to get a newfangled skimmer.

(if your ambition was to make a time travelling horse which is the brains of the operation then don't let me stop you).

Thanks alot tundrafrog but I doubt I put your models to shame, everyones models are great in the unique way! and thanks bruticus the idea was almost a traveling "speaker" of some sorts that lives on the go, priest sounds about right, bionic eye is definatly going to happen (I love making my models as half blind as me ) gun is actually switched as we speak, was just testing which side I liked better... think im going to see some of them outrider packs to add to it for stoage, Ill see how the unihorn looks and snap a quick pic...
