Hey folks, I haven't posted in a while. Been busy with painting and other projects! Here's a batch of Lychguard that I finished up a few months ago, I forgot I had the pics sitting around. Really happy with how they came out. I used a combination of drybrushing and fluorescent paints to get the eerie glow effect. I really didn't like the stock GW paint job, so I made my own, keeping with the turquoise / gold theme I have for my other Necron models.

Enjoy!

Pretty cool, I like it a lot. I like the blue with the gold, and with the bits of green.

I like those, they are clean and neat and the colour scheme works very well. Good job!

Nice job! I think the blue does a good job of making them distinctive, and I really like the bases.

Thanks for the compliments, all!

I don't usually do something that elaborate for standard units, but Elites get a bit more attention. It's a fairly straightforward, if lengthy, process.

I did the blue as follows: Basecoat Vallejo Andrea Blue (Enchanted Blue), then a black wash. Once that was dried, I drybrushed on Vallejo Deep Sky Blue (Ice Blue), Hawk Turquoise, and then drybrushed Vallejo Blue Fluorescent. I gave that an Asurmen Blue wash to even it all out. Though I may have done the blue wash before the fluo, I don't recall.

The green was easy as well. Basecoat Knarloc Green, black wash. Drybrush Snot Green, then drybrush Scorpion Green, then drybrush Green Fluorescent. Once that was all done, Thrakka Green wash to even it out.

Gold was...Basecoat Balthasar Gold, mud wash, then drybrush Shining Gold, then drybrush Burnished Gold, and then drybrush P3 Blighted Gold. Sepia wash on that to even it out.

Metal was standard Boltgun/Leadbelcher, black wash, then Necron Compound drybrush.

A little gloss varnish on the bits that I wanted to be extra-shiny, then done.

Base was the new Stirland Mud texture paint, mud wash, drybrush some Blood Red, and Bleached Bone and maybe one other similar color. I ended up making the bases, then gluing the finished models on afterward. It was easier that way since otherwise the base would make it difficult to reach some parts with a brush.

Check out my other Necron pics, they're all done (aside from my Ghost Ark) in a similar fashion, with the turquoise and gold effect.
