Hello fellow gamers!

I've spent years lurking here on and off mostly reading 40k Battle Reports and getting tips on painting. Recently my fiancée bought me the Dark Vengeance set for my birthday and fully set me up with a nice desk for painting etc and so I thought it time to join the ranks of Dakka Dakka as a contributing member. I've been into modelling since the early 00's, originally starting with LOTR mini's and then collecting and painting a small Tyranid force, which I no longer own

I got into Space Marines after I started reading Black Library novels (Eisenhorn is a favourite) but only got started on a Command Squad before other interests and lack of space overtook my modelling hobby for a few years. Before this year I had never actually played the game aspect of 40k but now the missus and I are hitting it hard. She is collecting an Eldar force (just bought the boxed Battleforce) and we're beginning to play some basic games with our unpainted armies which have been fun, to say the least!

The armies that I am currently working on are Dark Angels and Crimson Legion. My fiancée is working on an Eldar force using a Craftworld of her own design.

Haha, thank you.

No termies yet! I've been dreading trying to get that bone look on them, so I'm practising on all the bone sections on the Marines and Ravenwing first. Also got another 10 man squad of Marines (same squad from Dark Vengeance) in the mail so that'll give me heaps more practise.

Thanks. I may well do that at some point.

I really want to make up some sort of lightbox to photograph my mini's in first though. I really hate the pictures I have when I compare them to the actual models. We have a really good Nikon camera (which I have no idea how to work! ) so I'd like to start taking photos with that once I have the lighting sorted. If anyone knows how to do that or has links to any good tutorials on lighting let me know!

Yes! I have started one here for anyone that wants to check it out. It's only really got the pictures of my practice models at the moment. I'll do another post or two to bring it up to what I am painting now and then I'll try and update it once or twice a week depending on how motivated I am that week.
