Hello, Dakka.
Yesterday i finished painting BaneLegion's Kraan on foot.
I'm especial not use original color schema, because like to self modelling any miniature.
But i have some problems.
- fine detail of any fragment of miniature, but too many roughness, that damage my brushes.
- my hand tremor, that make mistakes and dirty spots at miniature's face
At once we (with my wife) compose this story, that describe mummy/demonic face of this hero:
Some times ago at northern land lives great hero, that make challenge to chaos gods, looks immortality. As a deposite he pledge soul.
He lost this challenge, but perverted humor of chaos gods present him immortality, turning him to willless puppet, which rampaging habitant lands, slaying any live creature, while his soul is tortured by thousands angry demons.
And now he looks ghostly hope, that any hero will kill him, released and calm wounded soul

That's a very nice model. I hadn't seen the fig before, so thanks for sharing.

Is the base unfinished, or is it actually snowy ground with a mound of snow? If the latter, how did you do the snow?

It's finished base.
For snow I use at first - base white paint from GW. Next - woodland scenic cement - very-very thin. And last - GW's snow.
