Hello,

I am looking for a design team that wishes to delve into the possibility of helping design a miniature war game. The concept and designs are highly secretive and In my opinion a little revolutionary , and I'm looking for the best of the best that is willing to work for the hobby it's self and it's perpetuation.

I need an artist. Writer Sculptor. and painter.

I also need someone that is familiar with game design such as RPG's, and Miniature war games, magic the gathering, even Pokemon.

Please PM with more details and samples of your work.

I am not hiring anyone as of yet but I am willing to pay a meager amount , and looking for possible future partners.

The artist and I can collaborate over the internet. So no problem if you live in Japan. However any sculptor/ painter would be required to live in Ontario in the Greater Toronto Area (Canada)

Please don't come to me with the intention of stealing my work/ideas.

GW Rules Interpretation Syndrom. GWRIS. Causes people to second guess a rule in a book because that's what they would have had to do in a GW system.

Sounds like the opportunity of a lifetime!

So you need people to do the writing, sculpting, painting and artwork for you. What part of this exactly is going to be yours to have stolen? Why do such a talented group of people need you anyway?

You always need more then one artist sculptor for everything. George Lucas hired artists and sculptors for the Star Wars movies.

I do have art and I will be doing sculpts. However I rather defer each task to someone who is much more skilled then I, that can Improve on my work.

Anyways do you have any positive comments?

Wait wat.

No. Noooooo.

First of all, you need to meet this team in real life. Doing this online is a terrible idea. Your game isn't going to make you rich, or famous. GW and a few other games are the only games that are entirely self-supporting for the creators. Many other writers are still working regular jobs.

Until you make something, you really don't need a team. Not every team needs this.

Seriously, think this through; you've not only skipped several stages such as playtesting and tweaking, as far as I can tell (I don't even know if you've made anything at all).

Don't take this the wrong way, but you really are going way ahead.

You aren't George Lucas.

Blap, to be fair all of my work with On the Lamb Games is entirely on the internet, and I've met them a grand total of twice in my life, once was to play games, and the other was to buy stuff from them at GenCon/sit in on an RPG session...

Edit: And many people work with sculptors and artists around the world (American companies using Bob Naismith, Mantic using Heath Foley for Dreadball...

Agreed, with all of the tech at our disposal, it's quite easy to work entirely over the net. I've done a couple of albums worth of collaboration with other musicians almost purely online.

Not really...

I actually work as an artist, and I cant even tell you the number of times I've been approached by people, who sound exactly like you. It's always the same story:

* I've got this awesome idea for a project that is gonna be the next big thing. (It's usually a pretty mediocre idea, that mostly amounts to personal ego stroking)
* I need people to do all the work for me, while I mastermind everything. (They have usually never managed anything before in their life, have bad ideas, and loose interest in their own project after a few months)
* I can't pay you much (always ends up being nothing), but if the project ends up making money then as a partner... (untold riches? dream on)

Like blabblab said... You have missed out a load of steps. If your ideas really are that good then put your money where your mouth is. Take out a loan, find some investors, do a kick starter, and then offer people a real wage to work for you. how is anyone supposed to have faith in your project if you aren't 100% behind it yourself. Instead of making half baked forum posts, looking for schmucks to work for free.

I do have art and I will be doing sculpts. However I rather defer each task to someone who is much more skilled then I, that can Improve on my work.

See that's the the thing. Why would someone who is more skilled than you want to waste their time improving your work? People have their own projects to work on, especially the kind of people you are looking for. And if they really are good at what they do, then you can bet their ideas and projects are a lot more worthwhile. They could just go improve their own work, which is already better than yours. Or go collaborate with someone who actually brings something to the table.

If you really do have a great idea, then go do it. Work your ass of and have something to show for it. If it really is that good people will be climbing over each other to work on it with you.

Sorry OP, everyone who tries to get feedback for ideas here gets gak from people who are jealous or who just want to project their negativity. Ignore the trolls. Good luck.

No, he isn't looking for feedback on ideas. He's asking for people to work for him.

That isn't quite true NectarPrime. We require responses be polite and constructive here, not that they be favourable or supportive of an idea.

It's not trolling to say there are some problems with the plan and explain why, it is polite disagreement, and frankly, potentially a little bit of a needed reality check at times.

If you want unconditional support, Dakka is the least of your concerns lol, the internet in general should be avoided!

So, let's be fair and try to give a helpful point in the right direction.

To the OP, launching a miniatures game is an extremely time consuming, expensive and complex venture. Finding artists and sculptors is great and all, but you should make a very serious business plan and find out what would be involved in really making your dream a reality before investing any work into it, or asking others to invest work either. I personally would not invest in a project of this nature without a lot more behind it than you seem to currently have.

Hey I actually have a job. I work as a manager for a moving company. Meaning I carry heavy gak all day up stairs, and train people like you.

I also have a hobby like you. "I'm artist" I produce people and record, I have lead several projects with youth centers for homeless teens, including teaching tai chi, leading art projects ( like what you do except you're not homeless, probably because you live in your moms house)

I understand business and I understand people like you that feel that your sooo much better then people because you have a shred of talent in one thing. I do what you do, and more.

What I am doing is finding people willing to work for money... I don't want your opinion. And I don't have 100$ an hour for a pretentious ass hats that live in there parents basements.

The OP was attempting to be humble. I don't have oodles of money and I do know how much work I have to finish. However I DON'T live in my parents basement and require help.

I need more then 2 lead artists. And frankly I suck at painting.

Will this stop me. No. I go about things in my own way and I get results. You ever move a piano? How about have you ever done a 16 hour day of work just to get rent payed off two months ahead?

Sod Off.

I have shown nothing for specific reasons. And frankly I will keep my artwork and ideas to myself until I meet people trust worthy enough to share them with.

I've had people steal my work before. Do you understand that me asking questions is gathering additional information? Regardless if you see anything worthwhile. I would think that you should just not think so negatively.

We as a community are suppose to help the community grow. I need help I'm asking for people interested. I am getting as many opinions as I can, to weigh them against my own.

The more information I have the more I have to work with. It's like painting a picture you more options with more colors.

Thanks .. now keep it to yourself.

Hey thank you very much. I am very frustrated at people trying to figure out who's swords bigger. I have a goal and I'm being as secretive as possible. To prevent theft.

So if anyone else wants to waist there breath saying. OH YOU HAVE NO ART POSTED ECT.. well I'm not the head artist for Marvel Comics. I'm a just a guy like Stan Lee.

I have a goal. I don't have time or energy for people telling me I should do it the way they want. If your in my way you're probably going to get mushroom slapped across the face.

Thanks again for your support.

Below you can see some art I collaborated on it's not for the immature, or young. Though it is immature. And it has nothing to do with the above post except to let people know I am also an artist. In every possible way.

Wow, immedate personal attacks when responding to valid concerns about your project, and not just in this thread either. Your sound an excellent person to work for!
