Hello everyone. I am realatively new to Space Marines and general and have been toying around with list ideas for a few months now since deciding to break my power armor ban. I have decided on a Drop Pod list and on the Raptors as my Space Marine chapter of choice as I love the look of their models and a list like this fits right into their fluff. I am going with the idea of a small elite force of raptors with some air support as it will fit the "Spec Ops" style fluff and save me a little $ in the long run. Now again I am somewhat clueless when it comes to Space Marines and this is my first attempt at a Drop Pod list so any comments, ideas or thoughts are more then welcome and encouraged, thanks for reading guys!

Tactics:

-Two Squads of Sternguard will come in on the first turn with the Stormtalons and combat squad into two units one with the x2 Heavy Flamers and one with the x2 Combi Meltas. The combi melta squads will target vehicles, transports primarily while the Heavy Flamer teams will play cleanup.

-Scouts will sit on objectives

-The three Stormtalons will come in and focus on any targets that my Sternguard and scouts have missed.

Looks like a solid list. The cool thing is that the Storm Talon apparently got cheaper in the "Death from the Skies" release so you may be able to change a few things here in there. One thing I might recommend, to get all your sternguard on the board in the first turn maybe drop one storm talon and your scouts to try and add two tac squads with drop pods.

But, I'd change the meltas and flamers in one of the sternguard squads for plasmas. Use it as the reserved pod, and let the melta pods drop in on turn 1.
