So after uhming and ahhing about it for a while I have decided to create a blog for my Guard guys. Never done a blog before and I have a model railway but all the stuff I buy for that is ready painted so my painting skills are limited. Any comments and criticsm are welcomed!

So this is my Company Command squad, Colonel Tyburn and his escort team.

This is Alpha Veteran Squad, prior to the arrival of the two metal special weapons troopers with plasma guns.

Trooper Haakan, with the sqaud vox caster and a minor war wound after disagreeing with the Chimera's hatch

They have four brother platoons, Beta and Delta with meltaguns, Charlie with more plasma guns.

They all have Chimera's for transport and the CCS has this as its transport - a Phoenix-class command carrier.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Then for heavy support so far we have got the Niad Executioner, here parked up with the SM battlegroup during an exercise.

Then I have two tanks that run as Russ variants, called Proteus class in both conventional battle cannon and exterminator autocannon armaments.

They also have a Destroyer and a Thunderer to act as heavy support but I havent got around to taking pictures of them yet.

I am still considering if I go with the Niad or Proteus variants, not really sure which one fits better with my army!

I decided that I also didnt like the way the Russ looked with the short track slope forwards so I initally built my variant up as an Eradicator with the tracks reversed.

Mid-way through being painted:-

Its now been rebuilt into a Thunderer variant using another Eradicator cannon barrel and some plasticard, and the painting has been finished on it bar the weathering.

Take ur pics on a white background made of paper or something, it makes ur models look better.
Then take pics of all ur models again in glorious close-ups. Will make them look better. Pose them epically as well.
Trust me, a man knows his wares.

Bit of an update, went a bit picture mad last night.

So, firstly we have the Niad Battle Tank. Built as a result of the local Forge World lacking the plans for the Leman Russ chassis and the Boudican Guard desperatley needing replacements for their losses the Niad was the result of the modification of the Phoenix-pattern command carrier into a front-line battle tank with the addition of thicker amour plates and more powerful engines plus the turret and weapons from a standard Russ design, the type has proved highly successful locally and with communications to the Imperium sketchy at best, it has proved an ideal stand-in locally.

This is A432NV776K, as yet un-named and pressed into service before being fully painted.

The few remaining Russ chassis vehicles are highly valued, and to the rest of the Imperium as well as just the Boudicans, very rare designs. Most of these are the Destroyer variant, fitted with dummy sponsons to make enemies more wary of getting too close to the tank. The command tank and pride of the 7th Company, the Steel Stormers, this is the Firefly, a locally designed pattern.

The other "common" variant of the Russ chassis in the Boudican army is the Thunderer. Another member of the 7th Company, 3rd Squadron, this is Krakatoa, picted in the midst of being rebuilt after suffering heavy damage during combat on Ancona II.

Krakatoa's commander, Sergeant Major Anders, as normal has refused to leave his tank during her repairs, and remains nearby at all times to ensure the local Mechanicum "don't mess with his tank" as they rebuild it.

Representing the 8th Company, this is Firelance, 2nd vehicle of the 4th Squadron, the only Devil Dog in the 8th company which is mostly made up of Hellhounds and Bane Wolfs.

As is normal with the flamer type vehicles, Firelance has got warning stripes on the dozer blade, albeit these ones are slightly wonky (I blame the paint team being slightly tired when it was done!)

Then we have Sergeant Mendez, in command of the 2nd Veteran squadron and the lascannon team from 4th Squadron. The lascannon team may be taken off Heavy weapon duties and assigned to "normal" trooper duties, but High Command has yet to decide their future assignment.

Minor update, got a Basilisk yesterday but I am not sure if I build it as what it was intended to be or get the bits I need to turn it into another Niad and then build the Earthshaker as a fixed or towed variant.

We shall see. Been doing a bit of painting on the tanks as well, so they have got so far at the moment.
