Heya.

For Chaos Space Sparines, specifically the Dark vengeance pieces. I am looking to get the result of Ancient white Power armor.
I would like to ask for ANY tips (especially with the strange new 'dry' painting products that seem no good for anything other than one final highlight).
How would you paint ancient white, regardless of process I invented, or how would you adjust the below?

I am happy so far, having taken these steps:

*Astronomican Grey Foundation, undercoat.
*Gryphonne Sepia, up to 3 liberal washes/guidecoats/staincoats.
*Praxeti White, liberal Drybrush.
*Gryphonne Sepia, 1 controlled wash.
*Praxeti White, Drybrush.

The trim/piping is gold, and as such I failed to get a real white effect into the chest plates between the tightest trim/piping.The end result is very bone looking except for the really highlighted highlights which say 'white'. I'm ok with the result for now, but there is room for me to make it much better.

Thanks in advance.

I tend to rely on weathering or cracking effects. Something like this:

The cracks are done in dark grey (codex, touch of black) with a light off white highlight. Always remember the only thing that should be 'pure' white is a very extreme highlight. Everything else should sit below that level. The 'middles' of large areas have just a touch of a brown tinge; an extremely thin glaze of Devlan mud or sepia would do the trick. Be subtle, white shows up colour shifts extremely harshly, as anyone who's had a drop of red go near their mix will tell you.

This is what I have so far. It's the first two- the third is a seperate, earlier and rejected test drive.
