I am 99% done. based and fully painted. just some feedback if i need to do some changes. something i missed.
thinking about naming my hive fleet.
I have so far a trygon which has been posted up for a few days and i just added a tervigon which is about 95% done, need feedback on what do with crushing claws and some minor touch ups

I'm sorry but this forum is for finished models and 99% just isn't going to cut it.

Just kidding of course. The Trygon looks great. The colors go together really well. the grey transitions to the light blue really well and the green really pops. The base is equally impressive too. It has so much going on that is looks very natural.

The only thing I would recommend going back and doing is something with the teeth. Right now they look too close to the skin color.

Yeah I'm doing ceramics white for teeth soon. And got to touch up the fangs around the mouth. I have no idea for my hive fleet. Need some ideas.

I love him. Normally, I really hate Tyranids. ("Oh, bright colors. How original." "Oh, you dipped your minis. No, really, they look great." ) But I really, really like this model! The blue is a kind of dusty color that puts me in the mind of thick plating, which has that dusty, faded color because of the myriad number of scratches and nicks it has sustained. I think that it really gives a sense of age and power to the model. The more muted color palette gives the model a dignity that Tyranids frequently lack.

So for a name for my hive fleet I was thinking of jotuheim. Norse mythology for frost giants?

Very good. I really like the colours you have chosen. That green, blue and then the white/pale colour work really well together.

I like this a lot. Fitting name for hive fleet but remember, it's Jotunheim rather than Jotuheim (don't forget the N!).

I like how you've achieved a cold, muted look here - gives it a realistic feel, for want of a better word (as much as you can apply the word "realistic" to Tyranids). A whole army like this would look really good.

i have warriors and raveners and one hive tyrant. they aren't 99% done yet (haha) but once they are ill post them up here as well.

That is a damn fine color scheme you have there. I particularly like the ash colored skin areas. Very nice.

Love it. I have beenainting the rest of my tyranid army in preparation for my trygon. It's my favorite tyranid model and I want to do it justice. This certainly helps!

Yea I love this model. I have a few painted in different hive fleet schemes but this is the one I'm gong to use for my second tyranid army. More to come soon. I just need to touch up the head and the base a bit

Could I get some info on how you painted this guy.

Carapace, Prime black, carapace first steps, Caldor blue, nuln oil to whole model, the Caldor blue again, alotic blue, then lothern blue mix with alotic in deep areas, lothern blue on the areas where light shines, dry brush etherium blue on edges for snow and wear effects.
Body-Recipe is black primer, then mechanicus standard grey, nuln oil wash, dry bush dawnstone, dry brush administratum grey, dry brush ulthuan grey. Steps in order
Claws- primed black, caliban green, caliban green and warboss green mix, warboss green, warboss green-skarsnik green, skarsnik green, moot green, yriel yellow, edge highlight moot green. Biel tan wash at the end optional for contrast

added tervigon, and i hoped the steps i posted helped.

Blue and green?.....erhm.....Not my favourite combination.
