Hey guys. I recently got commisioned to do a small army for SM and I decided after being here for a little bit to start a P&M blog. My work is not anywhere near the best but I do paint to the best of my abilities but still love to learn. i am looking for constructive criticism only though so no just spamming how much I suck.
A little about me. I play Orks have around 2k. I also have around 1k tau. And am starting Tyranids. I have sold models before, I started a grey knight army 1k points and very well painted as far as I was concerned and sold all of them to start another army becuase GK just wasn't my style. So onto the painting.
The first commision is from a friend who wanted Sons of Medusa. I laid down a base coat on all of them and began on a few individual models. (Note all my pictures are taking with a GS3)
The first two victims.
Close up of the first finished. Sons of Medusa aren't too complicated. You can see that I needed to thin my white on the helmet there. I actually realized that and did it with the other model with the flag. The helmet looks much better.
Will continue to update. Any ideas for basing?

Yeah thinning that helmet is a good idea.
Also the model looks a bit bland, maybe trim it another colour for some 'umpf' if you know what I mean.
Also concerning the pictures themselves, take pics on a white background made of paper or something, this makes the pic look a lot better. Then do close-ups, epic poses and whatnots with ur models.
Keep up the nice work.

I didn't get to assemble these guys or they would be much better, tons of mold lines etc and they came primed. Also your right I won't me too lazy to get put the light box for the model pictures. I did a black outline on the inside of the shoulder pad it looks a lot better. Thanks.

Today's progress, on the Sons of Medusa.
I am still wrestling with the idea that there is not enough on these guys. I did catch that I forgot the seal on the leg of one guy and finished it. I plan on basing them, client asked for desert. Is it just me or do they look too plain. The shoulder pads are a bit better, and the client asked that I not do the sons of medus design on the shoulder. So thoughts?
In other news, I ordered my Tyranids last night and am hoping to get them and start painting this weekend. I will probably be painting them with a majority of washes. So I will be picking those up as well as assembling.
In other news bases!
I am trying to think of how to base my nids. After my orks I have decided to base as soon as I get them and actually bought a surplus of bases to practice on. Snow sucks it has to be sealed to not flake off all the time. And I really liked the idea of Jungle bases for Tyranids but I just haven't thought of a good way to do them. Right now it has come down to either ruined temple, or toxic wasteland. I will do my best to recreate both tomorrow and post them up to see what you guys might have to say.
Until next time, have a good night.

Been working on these grey knights as a commission for an actual client this time! I feel that they came out pretty well. And the client was quite happy with them.
Finally worked some more on my Tau. Getting close to a nice 1500 point army. I will have that much after I pick up a few more things this weekend.
So far this is what I have done with my tau. They are two different squads with the squad leaders having a orange rimmed face in the left squad. And the Bone colored helm of the right. I also went with a few other distinctions such as no stripes on the shoulder pads and other things. They are coming along pretty nicely now.
So much more tau to work on
2 crisis suits
1 devilfish
1 hammerhead
2 missile sides (still need to be magnetized)
3 Stealth suits (need to be stripped and repainted)
10 Path finders
and a ton of drones
Finished is
22 fire warriors
5 path finders

Corrosive base I finished as a test today. I like to have a few bases on file to show to clients, or to use as inspiration. I actually really enjoy this one and may go for more of a swamp theme soon as well.

Although it seems no one comments on this (probably because I am not the best painter) I will continue to post. I came up with a basing idea for the sons of medusa inspire by another thread.
I was going for a sort of arcane artifact crashed from the stars into a rocky cannon or desert. The Havoc squads will look as if they are atop a cliff with a much darker blue to attempt to show some depth.
