These are the latest Crimson fist guys for me. The multimelta is from the GW set, not kitbashed. With the Razorback I was trying to be more brave with the highlights and the lens on the top hatch was new for me too. Hopefully the pictures do not offend youre eyes too bad :(. Took me forever to get them to that level. Still trying to find the right light level.

Looking really great, but I have 2 question.

1) why did you go for black helmet instead of white?

and 2) how did you get that blue, looking into paint crimson sternguard also, and I'm looking for a way to make them more distinct, this would be perfect.

Well I wanted them to be a icey mountain company and be a little different. You cant see because of the pictures but in the recess of the black helmet is a dark blue blend to make the look cold.

The color scheme of blue starts with necron abyss base, then to regal blue, enchanted blue, and the highligh ice blue. After all those shade i give the whole thing a coat of black wash and dab off everything with a paper towel leaving wash only in the creaks. It blends and softens the bright parts then highlight with iceblue where you think the light catches the most. Honestly you could do the wash after enchated blue and save yourself a step but i'm a creature of habbit. If you only have the new colors i dont really know what they are in the new gw paints. I think there are sites that tell you what the old paints are in relation to the new ones though.

Thanks! also to the black was fluffy. I'm saying the new 5th company was made after the crimson fists had over half their chapter blown to bits with the Orc invasion. So instead of the whit they went black being the first new combat ready company. In my mind they would have thrown everyone else into companies 1 through 4 and only have enough for those. So 5 would be the first new company.
