Hello, deadites!

Today I shall introduce you to the latest in Pre/mid- Heresy era tech the Omnissiah has to offer: the Mammoth Heavy Tank!
In essence, it's basically a Space Marine'd Malcador, but with better armor and a Deimos Pred turret (with a side order of LR sponsons). Experimental rules yet to come.
This is just a rough sketch on a paper, and the bottom image features the turret without any weapon loadouts.

I actually plan to scratch build this soon (when I get my paws on some plasticard)(also Mammoth is just a placeholder name until I find a more suitable one).

I'm open to suggestions and comments on this project. Cheers!

Neat design, I would certainly like to see that made. As far as names go, given the Greek naming tendencies how about either of the following:

Karkinos, a giant crab which fought Heracles alongside the Hydra

Laelaps, a dog destined always to catch its prey

You say that I am crazy. I say that you are right!

Thank you, fine gent (or miss)! As for the rules, I need to find the datasheets for the Malcador variants and mix them up with some SM rules/equipment.

Thanks! Yes, I would read more on names of Greek mythological creatures ( I might go with laelaps )(or maybe stegodon).

Looks VERY similar to the Churchill or Matilda tanks from WW2. Looking forward to seeing this completed

Yessss, but main inspiration came from the Malcador (which the chassis is based on the mk. IV tanks during the first war). Nice historical reference, though!

I feel close to getting a hold of some plasticard. X3

Sooo, here's a quick update.

I have written the rules out for the Mammoth, but I have yet to finalize them. Secondly, I am actually putting the Mammoth's construction on hold, due to other projects and works of mine (*cough*Tesla Cannon*cough*). I actually plan to scratch-build a LR Proteus (not Prometheus) to accompany my Ultramarines through the Heresy. And work on some rules for prototype Mechanicum tech. (First rule of homebrew is you do not talk about homebrew.)

Also give my Tumblr thing a visit sometime for things other than 40k (or 30k?). Cheers!

Not trying to discourage you but tbh the rough sketch looks kinda like a backwards Land Raider.
