Title pretty much says it all.

would prefer plastic/resin

cheaper da better.

I plan on cutting spear tips off and attaching axe blades, hammers, etc. Really want some brettonian/empire looking swords too.

Dwarven hammers would be fine

Just really not sure what might be the most economical option to convert 40-50~ goblins... hell I'll probably buy enough materials to do 100+ goblins.. the time will come I'm sure.

The most economical would be to pick up some plasticard and make your own. Swords are really easy to make out of plasticard, especially if they are to go on goblins, who can have all sorts of dodgy blades.

Cut out a roughly sword shaped piece and then trim, scrape and/or file the edges down to a triangular section. You can just about see this on my zealot arm blades

Beat me to it! Or, for more variety in weaponry, there's always sculpting. With Green Stuff and a little practice, or sculpey and almost no practice, I'm sure you could have a whole plethora of blades and bashing equipment in an afternoon.

You might be able to trim one side off the spear tips themselves to make knife-like blades, otherwise plasticard should work.

Googling "plasticard ork" came up with this post by insaniak, you can see what he did to make choppa-like objects...

I actually think the tricky thing with the BFSP goblins is going to be removing the spear shaft, as many (most?) of the goblins the shaft is physically attached to the model's forearm and robes.

Well managed these in a spare few minutes last night.

I bet you can guess where the hammer heads came from!

Not all finished, the cat ran off with the sword I made. Hopefully it's not chewed up too bad by time I find it.

Thanks for the ideas guys. I don't know why it didn't occur to just make some. Good grief

Those are really good. Properly proportioned and everything... are you sure you'll be allowed to use them?

promptly disqualified for my models not having weapons... opponent screaming, how does he get a parry save with a stick?

I know people get DQ'd for scenic bases in 40k sometimes.. but couldn't imagine a weapon!
