I think the lion should be painted gold or some other metallic colour, it doesn't really stand out too much with it all white. Also the white itself could maybe use a few thin coats (or even a spray) to smooth it out a bit. Same goes for the rune, which with some highlighting could be really impressive.

Overall I like the idea, it just needs a bit more work to really come to life.
