Bloodcrushers as they just look imposing and most people know that they have AP3 and leader might AP2, and will shoot to take them down. If, as in your previous statement, you want imposing figures that will be shot at then Crushers all the way IMO.

However like 15-20 hounds would make a case with 30-40 wounds they would go a long in way in being imposing and you have scout and a massive horde thats in their face. PRETTY SCARY- yet more expensive points wise perhaps.

Now that i think of it, either is fine and brings something different. Hounds IN YOUR LIST (cuz of amount of letters and AP3 available) might be better because your other troops arent overwhelming in attacks or speed, and this adds more bodies to the field and more threats perhaps.

thanks for the advice, so far that seems to be the general consensus... although, now i am looking more at heavy support options... thanks TheComedian again for brilliant advice.

Why not both? Karnak with a group of bloodcrushers so they gain scout, and a juggy khorne herald with hounds and they give him scout. T0 move 12" T1 move 12" assault if you went second maybe? Or, run and T2 move 12" and assault. DS in a few squads of letters off of banners and instruments. It's a fun little list.

I need to return some video tapes.

When comparing between the 2, always remember that you get 3 Hounds for every Crusher.

Crushers provide more killing power, but only when the opponent is wearing Power Armour. 3 Hounds would generate 6(9) attacks to the Bloodcrushers 3(4). However, the Crushers are resolved at AP3 and also get a Hammer of Wrath thrown into the deal, so in terms of Marine-shanking Bloodcrusers are unbeatable. However, this advantage is only held against 3+ saves: If fighting Terminators the Hellblade is worthless, while the weight of attacks pulls more against lower saves.
Defensively, there is no contest. Hounds provide twice the Wounds and spread the risk of Instant-Death. Speedwise, Hounds also win out because they can Move through Cover, Scout, and do not risk Dangerous Terrain.

The final point to consider is that Bloodcrushers get upgrades. You can get a unit Champion and thus AP2 upgrades, and you also gain access to the only Khorne Icon with speed. If you intend to Deep Strike a lot of Bloodletters, you don't have a lot of choice.

The gap is not as bad as it first appeared when the book dropped. Bloodcrushers do have a role, and that is mercilessly destroying Marines while also providing an Icon on the frontlines.
However, ultimately you get 3 times as many Hounds and so I feel that they win out as a generalist unit.

Hounds are hugely underrated, IMHO. Get a big unit of them and just swamp the enemy in attacks and wounds.

For fast attack, I personally would rate them:
1.Slaanesh-marked furies
2.Flesh hounds
3.Seekers
4.Crushers.

That's not to say that crusher's are -bad-, it's just they are much more susceptable to instant death now, and without the armour, they just don't do it for me, especially when fleshhounds are so much better.

Evil, I'm offended...

You bear the mark of our patron god Nurgle, and yet you forget how amazing Plague Flies are. I'd say they are easily the best current FA choice. It's icing on the cake that I can include them into my mono-Nurgle list
