Subject: Tau VS Dark Angels 1500 point Video Battle Report
Cool report, thanks for posting! I haven't been able to play a game yet, but I plan on running a Commander with Marker Drones, so it was good to see them survive for most of the battle.
If I were the DA player I might have dropped the Dread and Terminators more in your face, since they were going to have to cross no-mans-land anyway, and it might have forced you to split your fire more (and maybe they would have made it into combat).
Supporting Fire works great with some Markerlights and high AP weaponry nearby, can't wait to try it out myself.
Ya we talked about dropping the Terminators closer after the game. He has been dropping them close in all of his games and they normally die in the next turn or 2 from a combination of Plasma and nasty Close Combat characters so he is learning to use them in a more tactical way with the rest of his army. This is one of the cases where just running in head long would have actually worked well for him though.

I don't care what you say. I found a lightsaber in my garage and that makes me a Jedi.

Fun report. Had not thought about Commander with a marker light squad with drone controller, makes them wicked good. I think an ethereal with a FW squad behind an Aegis with a Kroot bubble 20 man is excellent as he can give them all an extra shot or make them stubborn. I think the Kroot got nerfed for cc but still a good bubble unit. Thanks for posting. Cheers

Thanks for the comments guys. I had another tau fight with the same guy today and he ended up taking out my Marker Drones first. It saved my other units but made me a bit sad to see the drones go down.
The fun part of the battle tonight was Tau winning both Close Combats we had during the game. It was all due to the commander and him getting those 4 base attacks.
No BatRep for tonight's game, but the Tau ended up tableing the DA. He took a different list with 30 Tac marines (1 Rhino/Melta, 1 Drop Pod/Flamer, 1 on foot/Plasma) Company Master (terminator), 5x Terminators, 2x Las/Missile Dreads, trip las Pred, and 3 bikes with 1 flamer.
My list was similar but not the same. No ADL, no DFish, I broke down the FW into 1 12-man and 3x 6-man units. I also gave the Fireblade a try (awesome) and Triple Missile Pod Crisis Suites (also Awesome).
