hey,

this is a wraithlord base that I decided to give a lava scheme to. It' not the best quality picture I know but my webcam was the only thing I had offhand.

I was thinking of adding a layer of yellow, but those crevices are about a millimeter thick and are nigh impossible to paint the bottom and not the sides.

Any tips or tricks that might help?

I used Evil Sunz Scarlet as a base and Wild Rider Red as the next layer If that helps.

You could try adding yellow only to the joints and forks, the area where it would be the hottest.

Also you probably should have done a darker red for the base, then slowly blended colors up to the forks and joints. It seems like you may have started it as too light of a red shade.

This is how I did my lava base for my Vulkan. It's red gore-blood red-to orange-yellow-white with 50/50 gradients of each color leading to the next.

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

You should have painted yellow on first in the deepest areas. Then have orange. and finally red and black.

After this you would paint over the sides to cover up any messups.

With painting in general you want to do the deepest areas first.
