Just saw a thread on a Riptide build so I thought I'd jump in. I'm about 80% finished at about 16 hours worked into the model. (including time for primers to dry). So I'll be posting images and some thoughts here shortly. To get things going Day 1 (attached) is with the primers finished did both sprues black first then pulled off the components that I wanted to keep black and primed the rest yellow then assembled the remainder of the components once the yellow primer had dried. approx 3 hours. Day 2 was adding paint and bringing in some extra bits for added effect to the base to give some extra dynamics and scale to the model. Wrecked the IG walker top and modified the soldier from a two feet on the ground to a more action running pose. <stay tuned for more!>

As promised More! So Day 3 was adding more paint and beginning to glue items together. The legs and hips as you will note are completely glued and the beginnings of the paint scheme are being applied to the armor all around. Worked a lot on the reactor rods and I'll be adding a close up of those later. Day 4 was bringing more colors and items into resolution. Suffered a drop on the legs that broke the pose and let me repose the legs into a more stable stance. The extra's are glued to the base and the plan is to add some additional modeling so that it looks more realistic. You'll notice that the Ion Cannon needs some extra finishing and I've magnetized the right forearm so that I will be able to exchange main weapons if I want. (doubt I will but it's nice to have the option) Plan to add static grass and some gravel/sand near the feet and wrecked IG walker to enhance the look. More to come!

So moving into Day 5 and the final stretch of the modeling. Touched up a lot of little things and glued several pieces into their position. The Left arm shield, Torso, feet to base, and arms were all glued and then it was down to finishing the basing. I used some Modelers earth in front of the left foot to give it a more action pose and added some gravel behind the foot so that it looks like he pivoted on the right foot and swept his left across the ground. Added grass and more gravel to the wreck and base. All in all some opportunities to do some minor touch-ups here and there but I think it's at a play level.

looks good! I think a wash of some kind would ease the rough color transition lines on the leg plates, while adding a little more definition and depth to the figure. Other than that, looks very tau

Looks good but I'd also say in need of a wash to bring up the details, possibly sepia or earthshade. And on a model that size you could probably apply it to the recesses with a detail brush with very little touch up required
