Hi there, I realy need some help. I've started painting my Hellbrute with an Ebony paint scheme. So far I am really content with the result. The plan is to give the brute a glowing light blue or light green power fist.

My problem at the moment is I did not think of which clour to paint the armour RIMS. And as I am looking at the model there nothing popping in there which does the trick.

Normally I paint the rims different kinds of metallics (silver, titanium, gold) but I think these will not allow the model to really pop out. And I defenitely want this model to pop out.

Any Ideas?

If you're looking for contrast, a bone color might look good.

Problem is Blue-Grey is less organic than a Brown-Grey.

Using a color wheel, a contrasting colour would be Orange-Brown = Rust!

You had the right idea with the "mouth" where the head is.

Or if you do not like a direct contrast, use yellow and purple for three-way contrasting colours.

Thanks guys for your response.

@fenshysa: I think you are correct and it will be a nice contrast, though I am worried the collour together with the horns will loose the strength for contrast. But I will try some bits to see if that's true or not.

@Talizvar: I don't exactly understand what youre trying to say with the "Cold Grey" and "Organic Grey". I do get the colorwheel contrast but the rimms will be next to the armour plates which willl be staying Dark Brown (Ebony) and so the contrasting collour would be Light Green.

So with this in mind and combining the colour of the skin I am t be looking for exactly a three-way contrast. Then Yellow-Orange and Blue-Purple would possable do the trick.

This is about similar as your proposistion of Yellow or Purple. and theoratically that would be great. But its really intens and I do not yet know which exact colour/clour technique I could use to pull this off.

YET IT IS INSANE AND I REALLY LIKE THE IDEA.

I have to let this one settle before a disision
