Hello DAKKA!
Me and a good friend here on dakka (I can't remember his username) have decided on a joint venture into the world of Orks and Goblins. The aim of this blog is to make us continue and get the project done. So, I shall ask any of you who follow this to scream, shout, beat and belittle us if we don't post enough, or if we ignore the project itself.
So far we have one ork boy painted, and although the picture is a little crappy, I think it just about shows you all what we're going for.
So take a look, comment, criticize and tear our minuscule ego's to pieces

I think that I think it looks good. Honestly, though, you're aren't likely to get much feedback beyond "take better pics" until you get that sorted out. Luckily, it's mostly an issue of focus (background is clear, model is blurry), at the moment, which can be sorted out easily enough.
With a few more models and clearer pictures garnering more views, you'll have a better shot of getting the feedback and encouragement you need to keep the ball (er... blog) rolling.

I will be taking better pictures during the day, as for painting more models I'm still waiting for feedback from my friend to see if this is acceptable for him! XD

Well... It's a little more "grim dark" than im used to for WHFB. I prefer lighter shades as it hints at a more humourous ork. Apart from that, for an ork Boy its pretty good!

May your chest inspire the hopes and dreams of millions.
May your arm girth frighten the elderly, slow moving adults and very small children.
May your gains be plentiful.
Go forth and LIFT.

Update 1.
So, finally got to borrow my parents camera and I've taken a few shots to show everyone here what the boyz are gonna look like when finished (but unbased).
What do you all think?

Much better. Still some obscuring shadows, but there's enough to comment on, now.
I like him. Rather a lot, actually. It's a simple scheme, but an effective one. There isn't a ton of variation within any of the colors, but everything has a nice amount of contrast (the skin, especially - it's almost blacklined, but doesn't feel jarringly stark). Vivid and almost cartoonish, without being terribly bright. I think a few guys like this ranked up will look great on the table.
One question, though - how are you doing your checks and dags? It looks like you're putting white over black, as the finish is a bit patchy. I'd recommend doing it the other way around, as it's easier to throw down smooth coats when you don't need to worry about precisely where they're going (and you'll need a few to get a decent white). When the bulk of the blade is black, you can just throw a strip of white on the back edge, then "cut in" with your black to establish the white dags. I know a lot of people claim that "rough = orky," but it's nearly impossible to distinguish between "painted to look sloppy" and "painted sloppily." Cleaning those up a little will make the whole model appear neater and shouldn't take too much extra time or effort.

I agree with oadie for the checks and dags, I use the same method for my orkz (white first).
Good job over all, I'll follow the progresses here!

I did actually paint the white first, but the squares were horrible so I had to go over them with whitemade from the new GW drybrush white mixed with water. It's no where near as good as standard white paint, but all I've got.
A note on the skin. After painting the arms of a second boy I've found another way to paint the skin that I like much more that doesn't look quite so black lined, and has more of a gradual fade to the recesses. I'll snap a couple of pics tomorrow when the suns up and post them on here.
