UPDATE 18 Dec 02013:

This is where I'll be posting pics of all of my IG army work, the 'fluff' for which is in development. Short version: An Inquisitor is on a personal mission and has requisitioned several units of IG and GK in order to pursue her quest.

Composed of OOP Tallarn and Steel Legion models, these armies have been a lot of fun to collect and paint over the years. The Steel Legion are finally done and now I am adding in little bits here and there.

Inqusitor Svetlana Boginskaya: (I know, I need to take a pic with a cool background)

OP resumes here:

I got my hands on some Kasrkin models that I have decided to do some converting and create a new CCS for my IG armies.

Here is the entire set of models that I can choose from:

I have decided to paint them up to match the Master of Ordnance (far right) that I did last year, with khaki trousers and green armor/jackets. On the left-front, pointing, and in the center (with upraised arm) are some artillery observers to accompany my Basilisks (no real game function, but I like to have them out there).

Next to the left-hand OA is the Company Standard Bearer, and behind him are two figs that will likely wind up being used for Bodyguards. The one on the left is an old Psyker model, the one on the right is kit-bashed from some IG parts and WFB Empire Militia arms. The model in the center with sword and laspistol will be the Company Commander, Captain Craine.

In the back row are the various guardsmen veterans that can make up the squad, a grenade launcher, Vox-operator, vanilla guardsmen and 3 flamers (2 are converted).
Finally, just in front of the MoO is a tank commander that is going to get stripped and re-painted to represent Pask.

Here is a close-up of Craine, the artillery observer, and MoO.

I also have 10 of these Cadian standards that will be issued to the CCS, 2 Platoon Command Squads ("Red" and "Blue") and 4 infantry squads in the Tallarn Army. I'm in the process of collecting the models I'll need to convert to hold these, but plan to paint all of the standards at once - the CCS and PCS standards will have the cords, color-coded for each platoon.

Things are coming along, I have all of the soldiers painted, working on the banners now.

I am also doing a Kroot Mercenary "counts as" Marbo, WIP here.

The color scheme is loosely based on this parrot:

and I have to give props to bebobdrums2424 for painting technique, based on this work:

I am working on a base for him that will give the effect of having him burst out of a "spider-hole" camouflaged with reeds...

They're looking great!

Also happy to see your Kroot as well as the fabulous Kroot by bebobdrums2424.

The secret to painting a really big army is to keep at it. You can't reach your destination if you never take any steps.

I build IG...lots and lots of IG.

Finally, they are all done!!

The seven standard bearers were a real pain, I wound up only having the patience and fortitude to get them to "tabletop" level of cleanness.

Here is the entire group (click the pic to go the Gallery page and zoom in):

2 x flamer, Demo Charge

I put a Vox on the one dude because I thought it looked good (and who knows, maybe SWS will get the Vox option next year...).

Sweet Goodness ! I like that name ! I was so fond of her bak in the days

Your work so far is very promising and by seeing the number of company standards, I guess there will be a lot of Guards
