Hey guys, this is my first conversion and first post ever on any modeling forum. I recently started doing this whole painting/modeling thing a few months ago, and this guy is what caught my eye and officially got me into it. I hated his original pose with his sword, and asked my friends what people use on Chaos Lords most often, and they said a bolter pistol and a CCW. I swapped his plasma pistol for a "bolter pistol" (actually a full sized bolter cause the pistol looked kinda lame), and a Warp Talon Lightning Claw hand that I thought would look nice as either a CCW or lightning claw on the table. He's about 85% done right now, I just kept his pose together with some glue from a sort of dried out cheap glue stick I have (this is actually excellent to use to tack things together since when it comes off it doesnt ruin paint jobs and comes off clean). I'll shut up now.

*Edit. Dumping all my Kranon conversions here because I love the crap out of that model

Finally attached the arm permenantly using Stick Putty and Zap-A-Gap. I officially hate Stick Putty. Also broke his horn off by accident :( Just need to finish painting and we're good to go!

I like the look man, especially the claws on the power fist. 2 things:
1st, it looks like the claws are supposed to be bone/natural because they are growing out of the armor.
2nd, I would go over the gold parts of the armor a couple more times, just to clean it up and make it look smooth.
Other than that, great job.

1 - I agree, and it will make him even look cooler with that Wolverine look
2 - Gold is a b*tch to paint, owmyquach (lol, nice name). I highly recomend you look around for tutorials for painting Gold because is one of those colors you really some instruction to master. That, or "cheat" and use Vallejo's Old gold, but since it's not an acrylic paint, you can't even use water to clean your brush.

Overall he looks a very nice conversion and I like the color scheme. And don't worry about that broken horn, it gives him a more battered look because of centuries of warfare

Yeah, in actuality, these pictures actually make the model look worse than when you see it in person. As for changing the claws, I painted them gold because I used the GW Warp Talon pictures as a reference to see what I should paint them, and they painted theirs a dark copper-y color in my opinion, so I went with that. As far as being smoothed and cleaned I've done that quite a bit since the pics were posted, and I'll post the updated ones with my phone, since I feel like those better represents how the model actually looks in person. The shoulder pad looks kinda rough because part of it is made from Stick Putty, which is the first sculpting putty that I've bought/used, and due to its grainy and flaky property it was hard for me to make it be level and smooth with the original sculpt.

*EDIT Pics attached, it looks darker and a bit dirtier with this camera, but in person it's not.
