Hey guys, just hoping for a bit of advice on which scheme to stick with, I have painted all models my self along with another 18 of each, the winner will be the general colour for the rest of my force and the loser will stay a 20 man unit to admire and wonder what might have been.

Red!

I've been really torn as the red is more eye catching and flashier (Not ta menshon da red wunz go fastaa!!!)

but the greens sort of suit the fluff better, both old and new, so thanks for the help guys!

Red! There's too many old and rusty necrons nowadays and too few colored The damn scarabs were busy these last 60 million years making sure the paint job was ok

I say red, but I'd love to see the red shading on these really dark with bright red edging.

I need to know what you think, on the carroburg crimson/purple model, do you like the weapon tube glow or does it look crap?

I'm personally a fan of the red, but I think it could stand to have a few more coats.

I like the red because it is different and I like the idea of the blood in machines but I dont like the grren what about orange

I like the red but I really think it would look better if you made it metallic like the pink ones.

Also, I don't really like the that shade of green on either of them, maybe you could try bronze, violet or maybe even a just lighter green like moot green.

I think the green 'glow' is too thick and maybe spread out too far on the model... The green with the red can sometimes come across too Christmas-y.

I like the purpley ones.

The light effect does need some more work. I agree it spreads too far, and it needs brighter/lighter shades down to the center to be successful, as of now it just looks like a flat green splat.

Both schemes are nice though. I haven't seen a lot of Necrons, but these are different from most of what I've seen. Very good!

Yeah, i havent gone reallu far with thw quality as of yet, theyre painted to a gaming standard atm and i will begin work on perfecting them shortly.

To be honest, I don't think either one works that well. As others have said, there are plenty of metal colored crons out there. But the red one looks almost Christmas-like.
Personally, I would go with a different color (or maybe less red). But to each his own. I voted red just because I'm tired of metal colored crons.

Personally, I would like to see a purple necron army. If they can make a purple space marine chapter (such as the Hawk Lords) there is no reason a kick-butt purple people eater necron army can't be done.

So I vote purple (not helpful, but my opinion).

I'd say red, but try a crimson wash and some warm red highlights/drybrushing depending on how you usually paint.

Red because well different is awesome.

I like red.

If you're adventurous, and willing to go outside the box, there are some very cool acrylic red metallics and/or red metallic pigments you could augment them with. Or just go for rusty! (there's green metallics too) Your best bet is to visit the local RR/Model store in your area because I've never seen them at a game store. Tamiya for the paints? Anyway, I always get complements when I use them on figures.
