So I took out a subscription to white dwarf two months ago and I'm having issues with delivery.. The first edition I was supposed to get wasn't here a week after release, so I rang them up and they sent me a replacement (say what you will but I do agree that their customer service is great). They wrote the delay off to an issue with my adress which they then doublechecked and corrected. I got that issue only 2 working days after ringing them up.

Fast forward to next month and i'm having the exact same problem. I rang them up again but this time they had no explanation for the delay and promised to send me a new one again. Haven't received anything yet though but I'm sure I will.. Though of course this is ridiculous, this way I'm getting my issues two weeks after release..

Now my question is, do any of you have a subscription? If so, when do you get yours? I live in the Netherlands btw, so shipping shouldn't be that much of an issue.. I am really considering trying to cancel my subscription because this is just unacceptable..

And let's not make this into a discussion about if white dwarf is worth the money, I enjoy it and that's enough for me.

Posted almost this same exact message in the Dakka Discussions forums since it wasn't 40k of fantasy specific. Since the "new format" of the mag and their changing their subscription shipping supplier delivery of White Dwarf has sucked for me. The first two issues I should have gotten never showed. March's issue showed up OK. My April issue, with the Tau, showed up on April 26th...then my May issue showed up on April 28th...:\ If April hadn't shown when it did I was about to call GW. Already have called them multiple times about it and had the missing issues added to the back end of my script, but it is annoying. I get something like 7 magazines each month and White Dwarf is the only one causing me issues. The rest show up consistently every month...

Early in my scripts it used to show up, like clockwork, the middle of the last week of the "previous" month, so April would always arrive the last week of March. Then after they shifted to "super secret" mode it showed up, like clockwork by the weekend after the mag was released in GW shops. Now it comes whenever, if at all. Kind of annoying.

Not the only one having the issue, and there were more folks in my thread who were also having issues.

I was having problems getting my subscription issues even close to when they were released. The April one I received on April 27 the may issue was released on April 28 and I received it on may 2 so that wasn't bad .

I've had multiple issues mysteriously 'go missing' on me, or my issue gets delivered 2-3 weeks late...
Not GW's fault Canada Post spectacularly sucks monkeyballs at their job. Hell, my January issue this year showed up in fing February!

Every time I've had to call up customer service and ask if there's been a delay with the issues, they've just said nope, double-checked my addy was correct in their system and then sent a new one to me that's never taken more than 5 days to land on my doorstep!

I've had exactly the same experience. My "Tau" issue showed up literally two days before the High Elf issue and weeks after I could have gotten it from my FLGS.

And then for 4 months after I had to shift to the mailed delivery vice picking it up at my local GW (since they closed it), I was getting two copies per month. I called cust serv each time and they confirmed I wasn't getting "double billed" but it was just silly.

You'd almost think they're trying to push people away from the shipped hard copy...

My mother in law had been getting me an annual subscription renewal for my birthday for years now. Based on everything GW's been up to lately (including the WD issues), I've asked her not to renew it next time...

I signed up for a subscription around the time the April issue was released. I never received it, I chalked it up to ordering my subscription too late. I still have not received my May issue... Looks like I need to call them up as well.

I just called and cancelled my subscription. They're refunding me for the 10 issues that are still open which seems fair enough to me. I'll just go into the FLGS each month to pick it up like I used to

I have a subscription and my issues always come way later than news stand releases... its kind of annoying... I'm almost tempted to give up my subscription but it guarantees I'll get an issue... even if it is late.

I had not renewed in the last two years for the same reasons. I was thinking of getting it delivered again since my closest FLGS is a bit far.

I have found in general any business where they have my money in hand I suddenly become low priority which was not the mindset 5-10 years ago.

The benefit in the past was earlier shipments and a price reduction. I find I only get that now by buying at a store. WD is looking like the "one click shopping" options in the GW store and when you add it all up it is no different than buying individually but with less packaging <side rant over>.

It really looks like store purchase is the way to go.

There is a 2 month turn around time before you will normally start getting issues from a script, so if you signed up in April, I wouldn't expect to get an issue until June.

Happened to me i ordered last summer did not ever get magazine until december then same as you describe. I got tired of it and asked for my money back and swaped the sub for a helldrake. White Dwarf distribution is a joke! Lost my business for the rag. If i really want one i can get ahead of time in local store but most of them are just paid advertisements it seems so i am glad i stoped it personally.

Ahhh, thanks for the heads up. I'll give GW the benefit of the doubt and give them another month before I harass them.
