Ambitious Space Wolves Initiate

Hey there guys, im painting up a space wolves army for an invasion tournament later this month. Ive recently had some trouble with my paint though.
My base layer is fine however the layer on top is now beginning to streak, even when im watering the paint down now. this is fairly problematic as i need this army finished for the 25th of this month!
Ill post some pics of my finished models and WIP's so youll get an idea of what im on about.
Oh yeah, ive also three drop pods to paint and thats just.....well, ill not go into that.
Any help would be much appreciated!

When paint is thinned properly, it typically takes a few thin layers to get complete coverage.
Don't worry too much, you're doing it right. As made obvious by these images, they look great.

Why is it that only those who have never fought in a battle are so eager to be in one? |

Your painting looks really good. Thinning your paints too much can also make them go on streaky. Shoot for a happy medium. Oh and the ubiquitous "drill out your gun barrels!"

Large items like pods or tanks are more intense to paint. you need to thin the paint down, but doing that you have to use multiple coats. On top of that you are using a light color. light colors tend to be less pigment, and if you thin the paint it can be blotchy or streaky.
As an example I thin my paints and it took 3 coats of vomit brown to do my tau tanks. I also did shadowsun in pure white, the basecoat was Deneb stone and i did I think 5 coats of thinned white and in some light her armor still has variations in color.
basically how OCD are you? if you look at the model will the very subtle variations in tone drive you crazy or after 4 coats will you decide thats enough time per model?
