So took me longer than I should have really spent in it but I'm happy with the result.
C&C appreciated.

Looks very well detailed, clearly you put effort into it and it shows. It's fairly colourful, but not busy. I like it!

You are probably going to catch hell for that base though.

The work on the model is awesome keep it up

but as Sedai predicted, that ram base makes no sense.

There's no ram on the base. Plus the client likes it and was his choice XD

The model is great but you could've at least painted the chips to look like a broken admech structure or something.

Sometimes a customer wants something you may not think is the greatest idea ever (often ranks with the worst you could think of) but thats what they pay you for so you give it to them.

In the end the customer is happy, thats a job done well IMO.

I may be biased but I like the look of the circuitry. But with the above responses I think I may ask the customer if their sure as I have till Saturday still for last minute adjustments. I am actually a bit worried about painting the circuits as I can't spray undercoat them, and the brush angles will be difficult, so I may paint them dark blue with a grey blue Drybrush maybe to make them look less circuity and more like parts from high tech vehicles or buildings. What d'you think?

I like the back but I don't like the front, too colorful. Clean job nonetheless. On the ram base well the customer may want you to hang a Chandelier on his left hand, it doesn't mean we are supposed to like it, although he will be really happy.

Got milk?

All I can say about painting is that VMC tastes much better than VMA... especially black...

Yeah, the base kinda works for me too. The model's paint job is reminiscent of TRON, so having the "microchip" base plays up the futuristic/videogame vibe of the model.

And I love the purple bits, olim. Really lovely shade and nice even application.

I really like your paintjob. I like my Tau colorful, and this guy definitely brings the noise on that front! I already said my piece on the chips when this was a wip, but to your credit, I think they look a lot less atrocious now that you're done with them.

Ultimately, it's your customer who matters the most. If they like it, then that's all that matters.

I know its a commission piece, and that is what the customer wanted...but damn if that colour scheme isn't busy as hell.

I think it would work a lot better with 1 less major colour worked in there.

As said before, if the customer likes it, then we really have no say. The painting is very well done, even if the colour scheme looks odd.

I'd definitely pass on that base, unpainted computer parts really ruin it for me, but were they painted...a different story entirely.

A little more colorful than I usually like, but your execution and handling of the paint is wonderfully smooth and clean. I'd love to see what you could do with a better color scheme.

BTW, if you get more established in commission painting and build up a good portfolio, you'll be able have a LOT more say in the color scheme. You don't wanna be a bully, but if someone ever asks for a Hello Kitty themed Orks force...
Still, the customer should always win, even if you recommend eliminating one color from the palette or adding another.

It looks great! No, I'm not a fan of the base either, but If that's what was requested then I don't see any issue. Maybe ask them if they like it after seeing it, make a suggestion for a change if they don't, or if they do like it, all the better that the job is done right?

It does look a bit busy, but I don't think overmuch. The colors work well together. You've done a fantastic job IMO. I'd happily pay for that. The blending is great. I do think the OSL on the gun could pop a bit more. If I didn't know what you were going for, I probably wouldn't notice it.

I think the base is an interesting choice. In my experience, the Interwebz tend to focus in on one or a select few ways of doing things. This hobby is art. There is no standard. I think it works, especially if it's intended as a display piece. I do my bases based on how I feel about the models, what works for them. Whether it's been done a million times, or is something completely creative and original like this. I think you should leave the base as is. It's different, and speaks to the technological focus of the Tau.

I dislike pretty much everything about it. Don't take it personally, the blending is amazing and your technique is fantastic, you're obviously an extremely skilled painter. That customer is out of his tiny mind, though.
