Subject: Robotech Tactics Terrain: A 6mm comprehensive list (Battletech and Epic 40k as well)
This is like a blog list of everything I could find "suitable" for Robotech Tactics to get/make terrain for the game.
It has a side benefit for my Battletech and Epic 40k gamer friends.
Starters: 6mm scale or 1/285th scale (5' 7" person is 6mm tall on table).
I created spoiler buttons because it was getting to be a wall of text.
Good solution to buy ready-made cardstock terrain at 10mm or print to 6mm:
Spoiler:
The Palladium demos of Tactics you were seeing, all the buildings are from DropZone Commander: Cityscape: http://www.hawkwargames.com/products/cityscape Problem: it is scaled to 10mm so is bigger than it should be. I am very tempted to say good enough for a near instant playable city scape. At the very least the base of the city is perfect to set rescaled buildings on.
Solution: you can download for FREE buildings you can print out: http://www.hawkwargames.com/blogs/downloadable-buildings Remember I said the scaling is too big? When you print the pdf just set the scale from 100% to 57% in the print settings and it will be perfect.
Found good "Battletech" buildings for download as well that are to scale (big selection and think they were made in "model-builder"):
http://www.sarna.net/files/media/cardstock/
I am looking into the best method to frame the buildings and print to strong cardstock. I heard for best results: print these out on best colour settings, cut them out, and glue to 11" X 17" sheet and get copied on thick stock gloss paper at Kinkos or Basics (Make sure no "fit" or scaling down settings are used).
Note: If you are printing your own, allow 8 hours for inkjet prints to dry before sealing them and use a mat art clear coat like Krylon or the ink may run if it is a water based coating.
Reviresco miniatures (some futuristic cars for the scenery)
Note: The cars are not on his ordering web page but they ARE available for order ($8 for 14 cars plus shipping):
Update: He created a custom link after some emails so I have 3 sets on the way! Responsive fellow...
I received them! Very good looking models with great detail. Really drives home how tiny that scale is. Will try to get around to pictures.
Order page:

This guy (Moondragons) is not taking orders anymore but great ideas if you want to scratch build stuff:
http://www.moondragons.com/html/1_300_sci_fi__bunkers.html Buildings and forts as well, sad the guy is having arm trouble, his work is great!
Bit confusing on having a guy cast for him.
Amazing what a block of putty, doll eyes and bits of card can do (I even spotted a toothpaste cap!).
Dave Graffam Models! Some free stuff and a great papercraft guide:
http://www.davesgames.net/ He says to scale his PDF creations at 20% for 6mm.
Monsterpocalypse models are about the right size and expense is not too bad. May have to buy all the buildings you need or paint to match what you have.

Good laser-cut buildings with some models for reference, no idea on cost since he presented it as a side project for 25th anniversary Battletech.

BTW found a huge guide called aptly enough: "Scale modeler's handbook" give it a look, amazing: http://www.scale-modelers-handbook.com/ ***Note: I add new sites on terrain as I find them hence the multiple edits*** Hope this helps, give feedback either way. As I find things or actually make something I will post it.
The person compiling this list may have shamelessly grabbed links from others with the topic of terrain without giving due credit, I will apologize now.

My crew aren't sticklers for perfect scale accuracy, so it's tempting to buy some Dropzone terrain for when our box gets in.
Of course, we have at the very minimum months to make this happen, and possibly until the heat death of the universe (this is Palladium, after all), so it's good to know there are a few options and variations open to us. Most of my group's terrain is 28mm based, though some of it can probably be re-purposed as mecha scale corridors/rooms/etc. Might need to invest in/make some hills/other natural LOS obstructions while we're at it too.

The way I figured it is that I can get the terrain out of the way because when the kickstarter boxes come out it will be a huge amount of hobby building and painting to do.
I am hoping to practice my airbrush work on the terrain and be in good form for the models.
All my terrain is 28mm as well, so getting into 6mm is a truly tiny scale: the vehicles I got drove that home.
Yes, I have the "do not believe Palladium when it comes to delivery dates" thought. I try to look at it as too much optimism with too little knowledge of all the steps needed for release.
I figure ninja division would take over completely if goals start slipping.

For the scale of Cardstockfree buidings from hawkwargames, does someone know how to scale their A4 and A3 buildings to letter standard size? Thanks!

You normally will not want to "scale" as that will mess with the actual scale of the buildings. Most A4 stuff will print on a letter sized sheet, just do a preview to check your margins. In the same way, A3 will print on ledger sized sheets. Again, watch your margins and print without scaling in order to maintain the size. If you can not print Ledger, legal works in most printers, but it is more likely to have items outside the margins of the printer. You can print across two sheets of paper as well, though the seam will then need to be dealt with.
Other sources for structures are of course model railroad sites. Z scale (1/220) is very popular in Japan and there is a large range of buildings and accessories for it.
ZZ (1/300) is less popular, but you can still find models in that scale.
Mostly though, when I have to work in microscales, I end up doing a lot of scaling, scratchbuilding and painting. At that small of a scale, most details are effectively flat. As a result, a box with a good paint job looks the part. Big stompy robots need buildings to duck behind, and you can pick up various sized wooden boxes from craft stores straight away. Paint, mask, paint... In a few hours time you have a downtown metropolis.

Sean_OBrien, really thanks! You helped me a lot!. Indeed, I just re-scaled the buildings from HawkWar games to 57% as recommended by Talizvar and it fits with no problems the letter size sheet (avoinding to "fit to Sheet margins" option). I compared the new printed building with one printed from Sarna.net (6mm scale) and it was a perfect match. Now, for the first time I have a new sense of space and comparison for this 1/285 scale, seeing the size of a 3 store building and the possible size of the Veritech. Again thanks a lot!
