My fiancee has lots of eldar. By lots, I mean I fielded 4000pts of tau against her and she matched me without unboxing some models or using either of her titans. Problem is, they aren't painted (yet).
As blatent bribery, I told her I would buy her some wraith models if she committed to painting her army again. She agreed, and the next day she had 25 new wraithguard, a wraithlord, spiritseer, and wraithfighter waiting for her when she got home. I didn't buy her any wraithknights because she already has two revenants which are only slightly bigger that can stand in (a fact that I don't really like, because now all the eldar players will sub/custom them as revenants, which makes them less... unique. Probably just being a bit foolish and grumpy, but oh well)
I will attempt to post lots of pics, as well as start updating my other topics at least once a week, although I have my wedding coming up in a couple of months that might make me MIA for a bit.

Came home and the dining room table was moved in front of the TV and covered with eldar. Yep: She's a keeper.

Heres a photo of the revenants that she is working on. Still have a lot of work
*** I could really use some help figuring out their arms! I want them to be detachable so that we can bring them to games easier, but even the strongest magnets I buy dont work. The magnets hold the arms on, but still allow for rotation between their two surfaces, so they droop!*******

I have tried using 2 magnets, and also using 2 pins in one side and a magnet on the other. Neither worked: the lances are just too heavy! The best I can think of is some kind of pant hook contraption, but I only have a circle 1 1/2cm in diameter to work with.

You could try using different sizes of square metal "tubing" as illustrated here http://www.paintingclinic.com/operations/eldarproject/warwalker.htm
A very light crimp of the larger piece would ensure a tight fit, if necessary.

Awesome stuff. Ive always liked the Eldar, and the new stuff is great...especially the Wraithguard and fighter. It might even be enough to get me to buy some...to use with non GW rules of course.

Though I don't have the titans, I can also field 4000 points of Eldar...and I might have forwarded the link to this thread to my husband as a blatant hint.

lolol! Made my fiancees day!
No photos yet, as I was away at my parents for fathers day and my mothers birthday (very convienant they are on the same weekend; it saves a lot on travel) and I got amazingly sick. My plane was delayed 4 hours (about double the length of the flight) making me arrive close to 5am instead of midnight. Combine that with two 16 hour work days, and my immune system decided to kick me in the face with its energy legs. The worst part is I was pretty much unconcious when the Iyanden supplement came out, and I was planning on getting my fiancee the limited edition version to go with her eldar codex.
I anticipate much basing this week: my goal is to get some of my vostroyan done (see my other thread) and get the wraithguard ready for magnets (want to try to make their weapons interchangable). Also trying to basecoat fire dragons, a couple of independents, a wraithlord, and some other misc models. If we can get all of that done, we might be able to move on to something other than black .

I know this is a P&M blog, but I seem to have acquired an extra Iyanden codex. I guess there is a 6 week back-order on them right now, so if anyone wants to buy one from me at retail value, let me know!
In the meantime, stay tuned for an update on the wraithguard!

Is it worth it? Im new to eldar and have yet to play them im putting together my little force. The iyanden codex seems cool if you want to play a wraith army. Is there any other types of build that you can do using it?

I honestly don't know. Havn't opened the codex yet. From what little I have heard, it makes wraithguard have battle focus, and some of the new abilities allow re-rolls. I think of it as a sort of "eldar deathwing" codex. You can also make wraithlords charactors, so they can answer challenges, and I heard something about using wraithblades in challanges as well.

The Iyanden 'dex means you can take up to 5 spiritseers as one hq choice. You get some different wargear/warlord traits and you can take a wrathknight as your warlord. you get a psychic power swap so warlocks/spiritseers lose conceal as their primaris and gain battle focus for wraith units. The rest of the book is fluff - Its a nice addition and I glad I bought it - but it doesn't actually change much. You can still do an effective wraith army in the ce dex.

There are some cool things the iyanden codex does. Particularly since gw seems to be reluctant now to release character statlines without having models for them, they dropped some wargear in there to make two semi unique characters fieldable. One of them is a spirit seer with the Spear of teuthlass so you can field Iyanna Arienal and the Crystal Lance on an autarch with jetbike is only like 1 ws away of beeing Drastana The Phoenix lord of the Shinning Spears. Its pretty neat and i hope they do it for other armies to. Not to mention that Voice of twilight is a REALLY good power to have in a wraith heavy army. Its battle focus AND furious charge for all wraiths. The wraithforge stone is also useful when fielding knights and lords. Its a usefull codex to pick up if your doing a wraith list without a doubt.
Alos for the revenant arms. I use 4mm cube magnets to hold the arms on after drilling a small hole to the side to pin it with a piece of paperclip. These magnets are rated for a pound and a half! they keep the arms on extremely well.

Thanks for the magnet information! My finacee just unwrapped her limited edition Iyanden codex last night, so I get to hear all about it on our 3 hour drive to a friends cottage this weekend.
I have heard rumors that the next codex suppliment will be Commander Farsight of the Tau. Just when I thought I couldn't spend any more money (the only armies I play are Dark Angels, Tau, and Eldar, all of which were released this year).

And, as promised, heres our update! Got our blue wraithguard, with white heads and insignia! Put a layer of 'ardcoat on the heads to keep the symbols on better. Only 23 in the picture because the other 2 aren't done.
Sitting down for an hour this evening to do some white highlights (between armor plates, etc) this evening. Try to post some more photos later!

I'm enjoying the orange too. Since this is just the base coat, we still have to finish the gems, highlight the armor, and wash the whole thing. Then comes magnetization and basing. Any ideas for a base? The fiancée wants something elegant if possible: I was thinking some greenstuff runes and tiles, but that seems like a lot of work for 200+ bases. Coloured sand maybe?
@FarseerAndyMan: We have 5 falcons and 2 fire prisms that are primed teal, but I don't think we are going to touch them for a while: I think the general plan is wraithguard/wraithlord, dire avengers/ fire dragons, scorpions/guardians, revenants, the rest of the troops, tanks, then heroes. I'm trying to plan it in a way that’s interesting, but also improves the fiancées level and speed of painting. I think that if we are lucky, we might get to them March of next year or something (that’s right, this is a slow process). Both my fiancée and I are trying to get our professional accreditation (my P.Eng, her T.R.), moving from Toronto to Ottawa, planning a wedding, getting new jobs, going on a Caribbean vacation, and that’s just before Christmas. Hopefully the level of interest in the painting we do will make up for the patience it will take to follow us
I'm currently working on some vostroyan models I intend to post on my other WIP in the next day or two. The hard part of this project is finding a time when we can both sit down and work on it together: she's pretty busy getting ready for our wedding (26 days!) and I don't want to work on the models without her!

I know exactly what you need for your bases; crystals.
http://www.anarchymodels.co.uk/index.php?page=shop.browse&category_id=2&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1&vmcchk=1&Itemid=1
I;'ve got some of their green crystals though have to use them. They look great though, and don't cost the earth in the grand scheme of things. Looks like you're not afraid of throwing a few pennies out for a bulk purchase though
Various colours available though I'd go with clear if I were you as the blue is too different to yours, and orange will detract from your spot colour.
