So after a 3 year break from the hobby, I've decided to start a new tau army. This is the first model I've painted for a couple of years. Still very much WIP at the moment but I'd like any options on the general colour scheme so far!

Nicely done, can't wait to see them finished. It's similar to what I'm going to do when I've primered up my tau, although I'm going with the dark reaper bluey grey on mine, similar to how I painted my kasrkins in my gallery

Started the shield, once it's done I can fully assemble the model and add finishing touches/neaten up.

Love the colour scheme dude. Its ghost like really subtle. I think white makings would be great on it. I think orange or red would ruin the sweet colour scheme. But I'm always open to being proved wrong. Marriage proved that pmsl

Thanks for the positive words gents. Suit is almost done now, probably one more session and then any freehand/markings/neatening up to do.
Thanks for your option cakie, I'm pretty torn between doing orange and white/pale grey. Orange will contrast nicely but then again do I want that?

I vote white personally. I think the cyan provides the contrast, Orange might be too much.

Ill do some fire warriors with both white and orange markings, and see what you think! Will finish suit tomorrow and have a fire blade conversion nearly done

So the suit is almost done just highlighting on the shield to finish and ill go and neaten any mistakes.

Only problem with orange sept colours is that they're Sa'cea sept markings, so you'd have to be Sa'Cea... I think that white would do very well, it goes with the grey, or maybe a grey/blue

I like how the fire blade is about to slug some one in the face.

Also im going to have to steal that commander conversion.

I think I'm gonna not go with orange simply as I want the teal colour to really stand out and be the focus.

Crackgnome: me too I'm actually excited just to see a unit of fire warriors done! Ill be doing some next week.

Desubot: thanks! I did quite a lot of work to repose and modify the legs of the new new gw commander, personally I love them as they five so much height to the battle suits, making them seem more elegant and agile. Ill be using these legs for all my suits, with xv9 torsos and then the xv89 arms with standard weapons. Not cheap....

Very nice scheme, love the simplicity and cleanness of it. I reckon white markings could work nicely, if it was plain white for max contrast.
