I am creating a Warboss who's main weapon is a pole hammer containing the soul of a Chaos sorcerer.

The whole premises is that the Warboss is forced to collect souls for the sorcerer to feed upon (Tzeentch or Slaanesh aligned Sorcerer)

The hammer is slightly taller then a big choppa. The front of the hammer is the face of the sorcerer leaning forward shouting with anger.

How ever i have not yet designed the rest of the hammer it is very plain now and i need help further designing it.

What should be on the other side of the hammer?
axe? sike? chains?

I have already sculpted the front of the hammer and the body but need to make it look more intimidating

Depending on how big it is maybe as a two headed hammer with a star of Chaos on the other side? Or the sorcerer's face laughing (one side anger one side delight)?

The ususual big spike/blade will always work.

Like the idea of the chaos symbol.

I think some chains would be pretty cool, maybe rushing forward to strike at an enemy ;D

That Warp-fire thing is really cool. But i think it might be too big
I have some marauder bits maybe if i can replicate one of their ball chains at 300% scale and add some spikes like a morning star.



What about the pole of the hammer what can i do to add some detail?

here are some bits i can replicate and attach with instant mold

there may be some smaller versions of that skaven thing, that you could get ahold of? not sure really!


You could wrap the handle with a ribbon of greenstuff like bandages? you could add "runes" to it carefully sculpted?

you could add a bunch of "worky bits" such as technological doo-dads that could be adding power or something to the hammer? Guitar string makes great cabling (the thicker string)

you could also try and make some ribbons like space marines have on them, purity seals or whatever? could make a bunch of those with words/incantations on them (to work the hammer?) could eave make the wax sticky on in shape of ork face or something?

I did some more sculpting and decided on a Tomb Kings banner for the axe side of the hammer. My Warboss has come along way I'm modeling his armor after the ork from the 2nd ED cover. Also here are some of my chaos ork boys the lighting is awful so the colors are a little faded but you can still spot some cool conversions from using arms from the 6th ED Warhammer Fantasy box set, I'm using the Fantasy orcs as Ard boys because of their plate armor. I'll have pics soon
