I might be getting my hand on an army of mix and match Space Wolf Terminators, 30 + models, along with lots of regular Wolf Guard in a trade. I'm not sure I want to paint them the traditional "Space Wolves Grey" because that color has just seemed a little pukey to me. I've been wanting to paint an army either primarily a red/dark red,OR with gold armor. What does everyone think of this idea? If you have any cool ideas or pictures to share, please do!

Well, I voted Red / dark Red because I already saw pics of SW painted like this and they look FANTASTIC. I don't have them with me at the moment, sorry, I will try to find them once I can.

Btw, as a shameless act of self-promotion, here's some SW I painted for a friend. He also HATES the original SW baby blue, so he decided he wanted a darker-greyish blue. See if you like the style:

Hi the only thing about red style its screams blood angels but I've seen a few nice red space wolves, I think that the pre-heresy colours dark grey are very cool

My own Ragnar Blackmanes company are the bright greyblue

I think a very dark grey with a small bit of blue in it would look great. Like the actual colour of a wolf's pelt, but also with a hint of classic space wolves.
